My window blinds let in a lot of light from the parking light at night, even though they are closed. I might buy a large sheet of foamcore to prop in front of them. That's cardboard with styrofoam in the middle.

Ah, I know foamcore well! I once built a full-sized model of a tram cab out of the stuff (it's a long story) and of a ship's control room (ditto).

Yeah...I'll proably end up doing it in return for babysitting.

Just so long as I don't get any *real* problems! smiley - yikes

My niece is coming over to exercise at 1pm. Not sure whether to go back to sleep till then. Still pretty tired.

Got up around Noon. Have been up since.

Tornado sirens going off here. Looks like a storm is coming.

Ugh, looks like a storm is brewing here, too.

I would strongly recommend rather than spending $400 on a gimmicky gadget, try hard to train yourself not to sleep till noon- get up and do something, even if you're sleepy. You'll be tired enough in the evening to sleep at night. Unless your goal is to be a night owl, in which case make sure you don't get up during the day at all.

But little steps. Start with that diary and timetable. And those downloads.

Right- if you try to do too much all at once, you'll wind up even more tired and frustrated. I especially think the diary is a good idea because as you go, you'll notice the patterns you need to try to break.

'Xactly.

Also - the kind of stuff you'll be recording is...

'OK - I'd planned to stay up all day, but I had a long nap yesterday from 1pm...So...what could I have done differently?'

And then next time round you can schedule in some remedial things to try.

Having said that - I couldn't sleep last night, for some reason. I ended up all sweaty and itchy so I got up and made tea...and then did *exactly* the wrong thing...picked up the laptop. smiley - rolleyes

When I eventually did go back to bed, I had a bizarre dream. PC had asked me to type out a dinner menu for a special meal for K on an old manual typewriter. It was difficult because for some reason I couldn't see the keys. Then PC and her sister annoyed *my* sister by singing a Reggae song in harmony, and I got in a fight with my sister because she kept making racist remarks and calling them Mexicans. smiley - weird

And right now I have the attention span of a lobotomized goldfish.

I don't think my sister even knows any reggae songs. smiley - smiley

I sometimes have really weird dreams, but the good thing is I can control what happens in them, and even wake myself up if needed.

Hi y'all. Love the dream Edward!

Was up late tonight, but had good excuse -- a class reunion. Off to bed now.

Post 34

Well, that is a good reason to be up late. Hopefully if you crashed around 2am, you'll be up between 10 and 11 so you can get to bed at a "decent" hour tonight.

Another idea...if you really can't get out of daytime naps immediately - time-limit them with an alarm clock.

Hiya!

I've managed to be up most of the day today. It's 4pm and I'm getting tired, but I think I'll watch a movie. That will keep me up. Want to stay up till at least 9pm, to try and lessen me waking back up at 3am.

Need to do the dishes some time today too.

Well done.

Got those download yet? You could try them if you can't sleep later.

I'll re-send the Wallace and Gromit DVD I had mailed to help motivate you to stay awake sometime, too. smiley - winkeye

If there's anything else I can do to help. Oh, I have a Ravi Shankar CD with Indian chants that I listen to on occasions when I'm stressed and want to relax before sleep. Would you like me to get one of those to you?

Two things about the downloads -- One, don't have a Ipod or MP3 player. So I could listen sitting up at the computer, but that wouldn't be terribly relaxing. Two, I just got in my 4 sleep music CDs, and have been trying them at night. They are very nice music, and seem to help some. I especially like the Ambient one, because it has ocean waves at the beginning.

If it wouldn't cost you too much more postage, I'd enjoy the Indian chants I'm sure.
