Today we did our titration assessment. For Excellence you needed to get concordant results within 0.2 mL but I got concordant results within 0.1 mL. I'm not sure I'll get Excellence, though. There are other stipulations.

Shakespeare

This term we are doing Shakespeare plays in English. The scene I will perform will be from Twelfth Night, act 2 scene 1. I will take on the role of Viola. My first line is-

"Save thee, friend, and thou music. Dost thou live by thy tabor?"

This week we had our Statistics assesment. we had two hours for it but I got it done in about 45 minutes.

I hate Statistics. I will do Calculus next year. That's Algebra, Graphing, Coordinate Geometry: all the easy parts on Maths. Statistics is Probability, Statistics kind of stuff.

The problem with Statistics is that it has open-ended questions, the kind of language-based stuff you find in English. Last year I only got Acheived, and this year I'm hoping for Merit, or even Excellence. It would be my first Excellence this year. We'll get our marks on Tuesday.

I've been busy working on my research report for English. It's about the role of women in science fiction. I'm using Doctor Who, Deepwater black and three short stories for my sources. Last year I got Merit for my research report, my only Merit in English. I'm hoping for Merit this year.

So far I've only failed one assesment - in Media Studies. It was close viewing of a film. We had two hours for that but I was absent the one day, and I ended up answering only half the questions. If I'd answered them all I would have got Merit. Ah well. We have another chance to gain those credits.

What? Am I seeing things?

A couple of days ago I saw that Z4 again, then I saw an M3 not twenty minutes later. And the strange thing is that I could swear that they had European registrations. Is someone importing BMWs and not registering them in New Zealand?

BMW

Today, as I was walking to school, I saw a BMW Z4. It was gun-metal grey, and I didn't see the front, I only noticed it when it passed me.

It was cool to see the italicised letters Z4... At last BMW has made a half-way-decent Boxster rival.

Traditionally, BMW roadsters have been rubbish. the Z3 was underpowered and had a chassis made of wet cardboard. the Z8 had the same fault, but the 5.0 litre V8 was good. same as in the M5. M5. Good car... Best super-saloon... Even the Jaguar S-type R can't beat it.

The BMW to have would be the 3-series coupé or 3-series cabriolet. Or the M3. Or the 760Li...

Of course the car to want is the Merc SLR. Or the Porsche Carrera GT. Or the Bentley Arnage T... Or a Mercedes Maybach 62... Can't decide...
