Hi, to everyone whatever hemisphere you are being hemi and spherical in. It's the day after Christmas (by a few hours) and we had a warm 
day. I am here, and you are there, and where will be be this time next year? Will WWIII come along and blow this community away? 
Let's not surrender to the Dark Side of the Force or to the machinations of Emperor Palpatine Bush and his mates.

Warm days and Christmas in the shops. 021202

Here it is the first warm sunny weather since about March or February. According to the business community, if we don't *buy* *now* our loved ones will miss out on Christmas cheer and good will to all cash registers (which is what they *really* care about! Jimmy is at the last of his NCEA exams for this year, today and I got an A- for my assignment in Learning Technologies about using application software for teaching purposes. (NCEA English in fact, what fun to pretend to be teaching 15 year olds!) 
Wishing all, a very merry (early) Christmas! (Never fear, I'll no doubt be back before December 25th)

Halloween today 311002

I don't care! I set no store by Halloween 
and see it as just part of the creeping Americanisation of society... There was a couple last year who announced the birth of their daughter 'On Independence Day' (presumably July 4th.) How meaningless!
Last night, we went to the paid performance of Alice in Wonderland, with Jim as the Red King. Superb! The dress rehearsal on Tuesday night was a sorry mess, but great fun! Several people had no idea of their lines. But everyone did well last night, and Jim says they were told they’ll all have passed NCEA assessment for the performance, at least on the technical side. We gave Vaugh-han a lift home to East Street (what a wonderful place to live!) and went to Mickey D’s, as we’d done on Tuesday. A wonderful night.
Garth will be picking Jim up at 20.30 hrs, and I hope the performance tonight is as good as last night. Stand outs were Hilary Entwhistle as the Red Queen, Amber Panting as Alice 1, Thomas Watts and Tom Tyer-Drake as the Mock Turtle and the Mad Hatter respectively. (I hope I got that right.)

Assignment *finished*241002

Here it is sunny,sunny and sunny and even a bit warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!About 11.11 am, I handed in my last assignment for Learning Technologies in Education. I can't be the only person who second-guesses, and worries the moment something is irrevocably gone! It is as good as it can be, the best I can do within the parameters given.
I have two assignments for the dreaded LTP, and we'll see what becomes of that! Meanwhile, Jimmy has to schedule breathing as a timetable item, just as his brother had to in 1992. Four assignments in 3 days..
He does his homework to 'Hybrid Theory' and 'Reanmimation' both by Linkin Park. I like to write to the tune of 
'Seventh Sojourn' by the Moody Blues (Or Muddy Boots, as someone I know named them).

Sunshine and hovering 031002

Well, it's sunny wet and almost warm! Certain people think I am obsessed with the weather - happen I am?
The Council are digging up our street again, we had to hover to leave the house today. 
Or - did we?
Dubya wants an excuse to invade Iraq, dammit, and what Dubya wants, Dubya too often gets. Will we actually *have* global nuclear war within our lifetimes? I don't believe so, thank God!
On a sick and ultimately selfish level, at least I wouldn't have to worry about job applications!
