paulh, vaccinated against the Omigod Variant

For several months, my blood pressure was in the high 150s (systolic) and high 80s/l0w 90s. My doctor added a blood pressure medication to the one I've been on. This has brought my pressure down to 130/80.

I had some lab tests (blood, urine) while I was there, so we'll see how the rest of me is faring.

That is good to hear smiley - ok

I've had a similar experience. I get three tablets per day now. Two 'losartan' and one 'Lercanidipinhydrochloride'

Some lab results have started coming. None terrible so far. I need to get my cholesterol down a little bit. I'm borderline prediabetic.

My mother had something similar done. But only for one or two varicose veins. But I have several friends with bypasses which is the more likely solution for most of us. A couple of them even have bypasses from one leg over to the other via the groin smiley - erm

Very true. And it won't be long before they take full control because they can be better drivers than we are. I for one welcome our robot overlords.

Up to a point ...

I am more of a diesel guy. I don't need the spark, but I do work fine under pressure.

Being of the younger persuasion (I think) I don't have those issues (yet). Hearing your conditions makes me aware that I probably have to take even more care of my body than I do now.

I do keep track of my health with my activity tracker / heart rate monitor. Usually, my rest rate tells me if I am going to be ill the day before symptoms start showing. (my normal rest rate is 50 +/-2, so jumps to 70 and higher do show up clearly)

My age is very inappropriate for my behaviour. I am 4-17 in my mind but physically 68. I feel fine, though, as long as I keep exercising and taking my medicine smiley - smiley

I'm only slightly older: 72 going on 73.

I have many many memories that pop up in dreams or catnaps. I've known tens of thousands of people and made many more casual acquaintances. Some person who was incidental to my existence fifty years will pop up in a dream, and I will wonder how they are doing now.

During my performing years I was part of a choral group that sang to large numbers of people East of the Mississippi as well as in selected countries in Southeast Asia, and at least ten countries in Europe. \

Now I keep to myself mostly, though when I do get out and about, I am amazed that so many people remember my years as a public librarian and a swimmer at the local pool.

So you have a 25-ish year head start on me... (only slightly less than my parents)

I sing in a choir as well (SMATB, pop-rock repertoire). After a big break, our director has recently started to do online voice coaching, since we are still not allowed to gather. Lots of people have stopped altogether. We have only two out of nine tenors left (and us four basses already easily outgunned those nine).

When I was much younger, I used to remember all names and faces. This stopped after I had a year with too many different employers. At some point you only remember the people you have to actually work with on a daily basis. Stil know he names from before that time though.
