We just have seeds - they're supposed to get 8-12 feet tall.
I plant them to lower over the parking lot on the other side of the wall.

I've ordered something called Liquid Fence, which has a smell that scares rabbits and deer away -- like rotten eggs. I pray that it doesn't repel people too .
In the meantime, I've put together a homemade concoction from this website:
http://www.veggiegardener.com/how-to-keep-rabbits-out-of-your-garden/
My yard smells like an Italian-Mexican restaurant, which I rather like. Unfortunately, the plants in the common areas like the entrance to the Park will also smell that way. Some people may not notice, or if they do they might not realize where the smell is coming from.
Next year I'm simply going to choose plants that rabbits are least likely to bother. The vegetable garden won't be amenable to that solution, though. Rabbits bother all vegetables except garlic and onions.

Liquid Fence is good stuff.
Also, if you plant marigolds around everything, it helps - deer hate marigolds, not sure about rabbits.

Slugs and snails love marigolds!

Is there anything that will repel, or better, eradicate, snails and slugs?
Thankfully, they cannot survive my desert climate.

It depends on the rabbit. Most rabbits loathe marigolds, but if the particular rabbit you're dealing with likes them, you're doomed.
I've been looking at chives. I may plant them in a ring around my zucchini.

Apparently. It scares them off, also groundhogs.
I saw two dead groundhogs on the road between here and the next similar-sized town this afternoon. They've gone to Groundhog Heaven.

I do not know if this would work on scaring rabbits but what about a scarecrow. Orsett village, (don't know if they still do it) but once a year all the villagers put scarecrows in their front garden (I think it is a competition) and the one who puts the best scarecrow up, wins the title of best village scarecrow.

Grape growers in California's central coast area often hang long streamers of tinsel from their vines since it tends to spook pest animals when it blows in the wind.

Dmitri, I wonder how the mirrors or reflective bottles would work with rabbits, as they are nocturnal creatures. There might not be enough light to see their reflections.

It depends on where you are. Streetlights would reflect, any house lights, also the moon.
They don't have to see their reflections. Just reflected light.

You don't illuminate your bunny's vegetarian buffet at night?
I'm shocked. It's the least you can do for the Bostonian wildlife, paulh
Besides: Enlightened bunnies is a nice name for a band!

The plants at the top of our entrance ramp are illuminated by streetlights. Likewise the ones at the bottom. Not so in the middle, when the bunny is most likely to be chewing.
