The ravioli soup is done, but the Portuguese soup is still simmering. The spinach-artichoke calsones and the sweet potato cake were baked last night. I didn't make a salad.

I've just been told that my weight has gone up again, so I will need to go back on the straight and narrow.

Yeah, my ex was once told to only eat black stuff for a while
I don't know why. Her probably thought there is so little black food out there she would certainly lose weight
Apparantly he had forgotten all about liquorice

Well, eggplants are black. They are extremely lacking in caloric density, just like celery. You can eat large amounts and still not take in many calories.
Of course, the only part of an eggplant that's black is the skin. The interior is pale yellow.

I think it would be entirely impossible to eat more than one eggplant/aubergine unless you were a masochist.

I'm under instructions from my doctor, lanzababy. Eggplants are low in calories, but the Italians load them down with all sorts of fattening things in order to make them tasty.
I'd like to find a low-calorie version, but doubt that there's one out there.

I actually believe I found a deepfrozen "weight watcher's low calorie eggplant pudding" once, paulh
Mousaka, as the greek call it
As I recall it was edible but nothing to write home about
