That's about five months away, even for cold-tolerant things like peas. I wouldn't plant any garden vegetables before May Day. Pumpkins and squashes should not go into the ground before June First.

Not that you need to try that. Life is too short to try doing thing because someone else likes them. Do what *you* like. But consider experimenting to see if you can do things with the right tools. Just sayin.'
