you used to have be really tall once over to join the police force. I think they ran out of tall people.

Thats why I could'nt join till the 90's, there were still height restrictions, think it was late 80's they were lifted nationwide, some forces kept them longer than others.It was seen in the end as a form of discrimination I believe. Either way, suited me.

well i bet loads of special constables who couldn't get in before as full time officers jumped at the chance.

Thats how I started.It's good training background.The rest as we know is history thanks to the ticker!

to be honest i don't think people would believe me..so many things have happened to me over the years.
