I have downloaded quite a lot of Fugazi songs now, they are nice and I will definitely try to get their albums. I've listened to 'Minor Threat' as well, so now for the Gorilla Biscuits!
More about principles: my own inclination is towards nonviolence. I am angry about many things in our society but I am not hostile towards any particular person.

I am nonviolent too - although am very frustrated with a lot of things in our society. But beging physically agressive doesn't help anybody.
It's a shame that sXe is often associated with violence, but that's hardly surprising as so is the hardcore scene (in respects to the 'dancing', not going around beating people up). Which is why you won't find me at a hardcore club being repeatedly hit by someone doing the "windmill dance" and the like!

Well there are some people with a rather rubbery body composition and who don't mind being knocked about very much!

*giggles*
does someone HAVE to have a reason for abstinence? do i have a reason? does "i don't want to" count? how about "i'm just not interested"?
hey, how do you want me to go about writing my FAQ thingies?
It's off the rack
Comrade Rumble Posted Apr 15, 2001
No, abstinence doesn't have to have a reason but I think straight edge does (mainly from the FAQ so not necesarilly reliable). I'm happy for people to call themselves sXe if they want even if they don't have the standard reason. So not, I'm just contradicting myself now. *bangs head on wall*
I think if you just put the question in the subject of a forum posting and then your version of the answer and then we'll comment and Mr T will ignore everything we say and just put what he likes on there .

Hey, you tell me what you want and I'll do it.
Excluding 'that thing' with the drill. Understand?

Comrade Rumble Posted Apr 15, 2001
Including the thing with the drill. "excuse me being pedantic,..." [Censored on grounds of taste]. How's the "Why I'm sXe" thing going?

shrinkwrapped Posted Apr 15, 2001
It's long, but I'm getting there.
Writing the 'why I'm sXe' bit, that is.

Well.... a simplified summary:
I dont drink much, smoke or do drugs because I dont want to damage my body... its the only one i've got...
I dont have promiscuous sex because of the above (STDs) and because of my personal morals.
Im a pacifist, btw

Hey! Check the page and the FAQ!
I'm gradually adding more stuff... most of it from Rumble so far, it has to be said.
If anyone wants any of their material on there, let me know!

I think you have official approval now. *hands badge over*

Hey Rumble. I'm working on my Why I'm sXe thing right now.
Check these Observer stats: I'll incorporate them in the 'Yoof' section at some point.
Just 29 per cent of 16 to 19-year-old women have not had a sexual partner.
While fewer than 20 per cent of the total population think it is important to wear designer labels, 40 per cent of 18-24s believe it is so.
Mobile phones account for 20 per cent of a typical youth's spending.
Only one in 20 young people say they would not buy the products of a large multinational company that had done something 'wrong'. <-- Very significant!
50 per cent of young people think it is important to stand out from the crowd

I do indeed. Check it out - it's a book by Naomi Klein, and it's a "must read". There's a website for it - search for it in Google.

"mobile phones account for 20 per cent of a typical youth's spending." yes they do don't they Mr T! I found the first one surprisingly high actually, the second I thought was low, the 4th about average (but disturbing none the less. Gives you a hopeful view of todays youth
