Muddling Through

Thanks for you comments, smiley - biggrin I did once try to get into journalism when I was at school leaving age but I got rejected twice at interview stage smiley - sadface and gave up. I later tried to get into the press office for the company I worked for but was rejected for having no experience! I do really enjoy writing though (and have had a few bits published in company magazines) and it is great when people appreciate it.smiley - ok

I also used to sell photos, but not of gigs, that was my first attempt having only just acquired a camera I can take to a gig with a decent zoom. The old SLR is a bit bulky! Did you manage to read all the graffiti on the pig?

I take it you didn't get my second email then?

Yep i got it and i can see them this timesmiley - smiley, i sent you an e-mail.

What camera do you use now then?

I read the pig, some of it was on my bacon last week i think.

You should take up the writing again, what i liked about it was that i felt that i was actually there, it was well written enough to draw the reader in without skipping bits, excellentsmiley - ok

Hey and you are a babe, or should i not really say thatsmiley - blush

I got your email... I am increasingly coming to the conclusion that the problem with this technology stuff we muddle through is nothing to do with age but the millions of variables there are smiley - yikes and the infinate number of software packages!

I decided to go digital so I went to the camera shop and said I wanted a camera that would fit in my jeans pocket and take good pictures at gigs - I ended up with an Olympus FE-240, 7.1 megapixels and 5x optical zoom! Is it sad smiley - sadface to say I bought it specifically for the Waters gig?

smiley - ta again! That is exactly what I hope to achieve when writing.

You are allowed to say I am a babe (as long as we are not talking pigs again!), it made me smiley - blush but it's nice to know I've still got it smiley - winkeye whatever 'it' is!!!!!! smiley - laugh

Hubby once told me he spotted a woman in the street and thought "Cor, she's a bit of alright" and when he got closer realised it was me smiley - yikes!!! It took him ages to tell me that because for some daft reason he thought I would be smiley - grr with him!

I decided to spend some of my redundancy money but it wasn't that expensive - less than £200 including memory card!

I have just had a smiley - cat and smiley - mouse based trauma smiley - yikes. A couple of weeks ago there was a nasty smell which I searched high and low for the source of to no availsmiley - sadface. I came to the conclusion a bird had died and fallen down the chimney. Last night I came home from work to find around a dozen bluebottles sleeping on the window smiley - yuk. After a mad frenzy with a newpaper they'd all gone to meet their maker! Today I found the offending rotting corpse smiley - yuk after moving ALL the furniture. I hate dead stuffsmiley - yikes living smiley - mouse no worries, dead one (2-3weeks old), throw up and run a mile!!!

I was the first chance i had to get on here, the kids were on it all day, but by the time i did get on i was knackeredsmiley - erm

Well really it should read 'what was' the job, as they now decided they dont want anybody.

They are building a new garden area in the school with a japanese theme, water garden and such, its quite a large area and they wanted me to design it and put it into action, but alas they are putting it on hold until next year now due to funding.

I did have a look but went crosseyed, so i am going to get my boy to show me, but he is away this week (school holidays), him and some of his mates have gone on a football tournament to Bournemouth.

That's a shame about the job, it sounds like a fun projectsmiley - ok, I will keep my fingers crossed that they have the funding next year and still want you to do it.smiley - biggrin

How was your bank holiday? I made a big fuss to get the day off from work and then wished I had gone in...smiley - sadface watching the rain with a drunken fool is not my idea of fun!smiley - erm Oh well, hopefully the weather will be better for the next BH and I will be able to entice him into doing something more interesting than watching rubbish on the tv whist getting slaughtered!!!smiley - laugh

I have been quite bored recently, work is quiet, life is quiet, its seems like mid-year and nothing exciting to do, nothing to really look forward to as there is nothing coming up.

I think i am hitting a low time of life, still jolly in myself and all that, but nothing seems to happen, i need something, but i dont know what.

Do you get like that??

You sound like you need a smiley - hug. You’ve been going through the mill a bit recently and that job thing must have been quite a blow. I hate it when something really good comes along but stuffs up at the last minute! Sounds a bit hippy like smiley - rose (but then you have seen the hat!) but I believe things happen for a reason and something new (and right for yousmiley - biggrin) will come along just at the moment when you need it.

I get that ‘need something but don’t know what’ feeling all the time. I think my problem is that I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow upsmiley - huh I usually opt for an adrenaline buzzsmiley - yikes, hence the rally driving or gigs are always good for a lift smiley - biggrin and conversations with strangers often give me a boost... although I think I freaked a guy in the shop out a bit earliersmiley - ermI told him I don't particularly like humans as a race and animals make much better people!

This may sound smiley - weird but it is only recently that I realised I have done quite a lot of exciting and interesting stuff. I used to feel that my life was quite boring smiley - yawn as I have not really travelled or become a high flyer or done the having kids thing! Then hubbys mate said he is jealous of our social life, my best mate commented that she loves having friends who do exciting smiley - disco things so they can tell her about them as she doesn’t have the guts to do them herself. A few days ago a guy at work pointed out that I have a story for everything, but I think that just means I can talk the hind leg off a donkey.smiley - laugh

By the way, I am officially a permanent member of staff at my place.smiley - somersault They are really happy with my work and I have been given a £1k rise! smiley - biggrin

I went through a really flat few years when I felt in a rut, I hadn’t been to a gig in years, smiley - sadface stopped going to pubs because I just couldn’t handle himsmiley - ale. Then Offspring played at Wembley Arena and that took me right back and woke me up! I gave myself a huge kick up the butt and morphed from moody, materialistic, gloomy goth to (almost) laid-back hippy and now I want to shift the rest of the baggage and live on a canal boat …basically I stopped turning into my mum smiley - yikes

It would be smiley - cool to meet you, I’m sure we could talk nonsense for hours!smiley - biggrin I am great at putting the world to rights! You’ll probably wake up one morning to find me moored up on the river!smiley - yikes Don’t have nightmares!!! smiley - laugh

It's my fault for commenting on the lovely sunshine, smiley - sadface now it's all grey and chilly smiley - brr

smiley - yikes not Big Brother. And I thought you were smiley - cool! I am proud to say I have never ever seen the programme and never intend to. I can see how you can get sucked into those things... I am slightly ashamed smiley - blush to admit that I got hooked on the Celebrity Jungle thing (when Phil Tuffnel won) and I was even watching the 24 hour footagesmiley - erm. In my defence I was recouperating from an operation and pretty immobile at the time. I am not sure if the resulting depression was due to the operation or my choice of viewing!!! Perhaps a bit of both!smiley - laugh

Today I have mostly been slobbing on the sofa (under a blanket) with the smiley - cat watching DVD's. I am working all weekend so today is my Sunday!

Any plans for the weekend?
