Goodness me, I don't know what your friend would think of the steatoda and the little moth graveyard by her web in my bathroom
Dmitri I'm sorry to hear of the CharleyHorse
Hiccup has a journal which has challenges and suggestions in it. I dreamt this was on tv and a presenter was doing the challenge of interviewing a nurse, turned out to be a dental nurse who was being interviewed as he worked.
Then the presenter morphed into a dalek and said in Dalek tones, There is a gargantuan...
The cat woke me up, I am still wondering a gargantuan what?

The world will never know!
Anyways: can't remember much of last night. There was a bit ... my preacher friend or someone else remarked on how I was able to remember plants' scientific names, so I said it's not difficult at all and offered to remember a weird scientific name ... I can't remember of *what* sort of thing it was the name, but it was atrocious ... and of course in the dream I utterly failed to remember it. Also it seemed as if the name was morphing as the dream went on ... each time I checked it it was different.

Last night I dreamt a lot ... can only remember some disconnected shreds of them.
In one dream I found wonderful ancient LEGO-sets! This is a regular feature in my dreams. I really loved LEGO's when I was from six to about twelve years old. Back then there were awesome sets for sale ... the kind of sets then had more 'general purpose' bricks and pieces and with one set you could build many different things while most sets I see today are for building just one thing or set of things. But anyways in my dreams I often dream I find some of those old sets again. But the dreams often turn nasty at that point: either I don't have money for them, or I buy the sets and they turn out to have only a few bricks in them and are thus useless! In last night's dream I found the largest collection of ancient LEGO's yet and they seemed to be complete and I had money, too! The dream ended before I could build any of them.
I dreamt I was singing - and sounding good! I wish I could sing - I guess I don't have a bad voice, but not strong enough for 'real' good singing.
I dreamt I was somewhere ... a large place where one could walk around a lot. There was a bodybuilding competition being held and the whole world was full of half-naked men. But they were not impressive ... they were all about average sized with average sized muscles and while they were lean they were stringy-looking and not with crisp definition. They looked like the over-50's might look at a drug-free bodybuilding contest though they were supposedly young guys. I was thinking people didn't know how to properly train and diet any more.
There was a dream of John Cleese as a heretic or maybe crazy Mormon, and he said something really incongruous and I wish I could remember what it was.
There was a dream in which my sister was a religious fundamentalist again. And I was listening to a song. The song was about a story in a holy book in which a man was hanged (on a hsip, like from the yard-arm) and then spontaneously burst into flame. In the song, Anneke van Giersbergen (a favourite musician of mine) was singing about this and trying to explain it, and coming up with increasingly implausible justifications for how if could have happened, and towards the end of the song she's just babbling, no longer singing, and it's making less and less sense and finally it just peters out into silence.

Hullo Willem! Ancient LEGO sets! That's amazing! I used to love LEGO, I'd build stairways and temples, except the family dog would try to chew my creations. I'd like to dream about LEGO tonight, please dream spirits.

Hi Cactuscafé, I do hope you dream about some LEGO's! My nephew Christiaan likes playing with them a lot as well ... I have a huge box here with bricks and so on and often when he visits we build funny stuff.
Anyways ... last night's dreams I can't remember very well, but there was one in which I was afflicted again with my common dream affliction of being unable to walk forwards. I can only make headway by turning sideways and then only slowly, or I have to grab onto a fence and pull myself forwards using my hands. And typically in such a dream I have to walk a huge distance ... in real life I walk a lot, quite significant distances, so this is an awful kind of dream. Anyways in the dream I ended up doing weight training to try and strengthen my legs to the point where they can carry me forward. No matter how strong I am in the gym, though, it was no use on the road. There were people who couldn't believe that I was unable to walk forward.

I dreamt that one of my teeth was unravelling last night. It felt like I had something in between my teeth but when I tried to get it out, my tooth was a like a nylon thread that was frayed.
It didn't hurt although I was scared to cut it. I did though because I had a mouth full of nylon thread which kind of expanded. I kept worrying the end of it with my tongue
Also I was abroad, not sure where, has amazing lifts that not only go up and down but side to side so you don't have to walk long corriders
I always get confused about these lifts, (they are recurring) where to get off and struggle to find the right lift when I need to get back
There was a tiny baby Dobby (from Harry Potter) that had been abandoned in my hotel bed and I was trying to smuggle him through customs to bring him home to look after him
He kept wriggling under my shirt and wanting to keep peek out to see all that was going on I was terrified we going to get busted

Hi Peanut! I often dream that I'm losing my teeth ... never that they unravel, though! I haven't dreamt of lifts as far as I know ... in my dreams I usually have to get about on foot, even when I need to cover great distances. I've had incredibly drawn-out dreams of hoofing it all the way to Pretoria or Johannesburg ...
When not walking, I ride a bike in my dreams ... very rarely a motorbike. I can't remember ever dreaming of driving a car ... how about that!
The one of the baby Dobby sounds interesting! I rarely dream of movie critters ... some actors sometimes turn up in my dreams.
Last night I dreamt a lot, can't remember much.
I had a gift for a neighbour's wife. I think he was a preacher ... there was a preacher family living right across the street from us for many years. In my dream I gave the preacher's wife a tiny bonsai fig tree. But for some reason I gave the tree to her completely uprooted, the roots were a tangle, and she needed to re-plant it and I hoped that she would do it properly so that it would grow, I was very worried that it had died having been uprooted. But I know fig-trees are very robust and that it would probably survive and grow beautifully once she's planted and watered it.
The preacher family had a pretty blonde daughter. There was something romantic going on between her and me or possibly someone else ... dream identities can be confusing.
Then there was a dream of screamers! Do you know what a screamer is? This is a screamer:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Chauna_chavaria-8.jpg
They're relatives of ducks believe it or not. In my dream they were paddling along on a pond along with regular ducks. My dream screamers were huge and very brightly coloured ... neon-pink and red and yellow and green and so on. And then they were attacked by a great shark ...

Wow, that was some critter dream, Willem. I think if I lived in SA I'd have shark nightmares as well. Sharks just seem like they are toothy dinosaurs although they are sort of the clean up company of the oceans and people shouldn't kill them wantonly. I certainly don't approve of using them in soups or Eastern medicine. I wonder how many creatures in Asia went extinct because they were thought to be medicinal? Although the west and silly hat faze was murder to lots of birds. Feathers and furs are best on the animals ladies.

Holy dream time! I just met a screamer. Never heard of a screamer before! Willem, you have dreams of many layers and qualities. You are a dreamer deluxe.
Peanut's unravelling tooth! I just found it! What??? Yep, in my pocket. What???? Better call the tooth fairy.
No, only kidding. I was thinking about it earlier, and I realised it was here in Willem's journal, that I'd read earlier.

Glad you found this one of the unravelling tooth Cactuscafé! Thanks for the appreciation.
Last night: I dreamt I visited New York! Peanut was there, she was a New Yorker in the dream. We saw a show ... a rather risqué sort of thing but I can't remember details. What was funny to me was that the people there did not have what I consider to be American accents, they sounded pretty British to me.
Then there was a dream in which my father was still alive but for some reason I fled from him, into the mountains, where I lived with a Bushman-like tribe. Then after many years I returned to 'civilisation'. I sort of knew my father would die and I just wanted to speak with him again before he did.

The thought of being in New York going to see a risqué show with you is still making me grin.
If it had been my dream I expect pre- raphaelite ladies would be involved some where

You'll have to explain the pre-Raphaelite ladies to me Peanut!
Anyways, last two nights of dreaming:
Night before last:
I dreamt about our kittie Spook. He was a lovely cat who just disappeared. Anyways in my dream he was back again, but his fur was patchy, he had large naked patches. I thought he was licking himself too much but when I checked I saw leaves and twigs poking through his skin ... he had plants growing inside him and that was making him sick and poking through his skin and causing his fur to fall out! I think we removed the plants and he was all right but still very patchy-looking.
I dreamt my preacher friend was very upset, because somebody had removed a Marula tree he planted in one of our parks.
I dreamt I was riding motorbike again, extremely fast, making huge jumps from hills.
Last night:
I was watching an Ancient Assyrian play. There were people doing ancient synchronized dances. They had nice beards and wore loincloths. But the background was just a blank wall ... there should have been reliefs and mosaics on it. And there were statues but they were grey .. they should have been painted bright colours.
There was a dream in which there was a huge slab ... a door with a flange, perhaps a door of a safe. But there was a very detailed series of tiny mosaic tiles on it, I was sure it was a code. I asked someone about the slab calling it a 'book'. He replied simply describing to me what I could see: a slab with tiles arranged on it.
There was a dream in which there was a brilliant thief ... he was acting as a kind of trustworthy waiter/butler as a cover.
I dreamt about my dad recovering from cancer.
I dreamt I read a wonderful crime novel ... or perhaps I wrote it. I wish I could remember the details.

OK I'll try *yet again* to get back to this.
Last night I had an awesome semi-lucid dream. I was able to create a dream forest and then explore it. I remember specifically in the dream about how huge to make it and I realized I could make it as large as I wanted, so I was making it thousands by thousands of miles. I also made huge mountains rising up from the forests. The exploring part I can't remember clearly except when we were high up in the mountains and above the forest. There were glorious gigantic rocks and cliffs, and we had an amazing view of the forests below us. There must have been some weird plants as well, but I can't remember much.
That's all about last night's dreaming I can remember, but it's interesting that there was a semi-lucid aspect to the dream. I do sometimes realize that I can create elements of the dreams that I'm dreaming and I have exploited this in the part for creating amazing beautiful landscapes to explore.

I wish I could have more like that Peanut!
Last night: I dreamt I moved to a different city, was staying with my preacher friend and his wife. The gardens got re-arranged ... anyways I then got lost, somehow, had to find my way back, on foot as usual. There was a marathon being run ... I decided to follow it even though it might have been going in the *opposite* direction I needed to be heading. Jim Carrey was running, with comically exaggerated strides ... somewhat like John Cleese's silly walk.
Then Jim Carrey was caught in a fit of overacting ... he was now clothed like The Riddler and someone was grabbing him, pinning his arms to his side to restrain him. On the floor was someone with a dumbstruck expression ... asking over and over again, "Why *is* life like a banana?"

that was a funny dream
Lst night I dreamt that I had whittled my own totem walking stick, it was stout for a walking stick, more like a short staff.
I can't remember all the animals I had put on it but I had woven in a depiction of a branched tree amongst them
At the top of totem stick was the head of a widgeon (carved one not a real one!)this was comfortable for my hand but had a special feature. There was a little latch under its chin, if you unlatched it and flicked under the beak it opened up
Inside the walking stick, I had carved out a channel and lined it with silver and it was filled with sloe gin
It wasn't at all elegant to drink from, especially if you got the tilt wrong, bit dribbly but it basically did the job!
I'm a very skilled craftsperson in my dreams.
