That's pretty cool, I think I would struggle to stay upright on ice, never mind skate lol! It sounds a lot less dangerous being the spotlight operator lol!

when you read the main edited one on the buildings, you will see there is no shopping complexes in the center.
-
there is a flickr link to see the buildings as they are now,
-
its not an exciting deited guide, but after being on h2g2 for nearly six yrs, its was the only one i could research in the library and local places like the t and a, and townhall. jim

It was interesting, the national media museum sounds like a good place to visit, and at least if I ever visit Bradford, I can go knowing historical facts, and places to go
And it must have been fun meeting all the famous people when you were younger I have to say I have never met anyone famous as yet lol!

hi

you`might have without knowing it, they say that if you live in a large town, the odds are you will pass one or two in a year, usualy around xmas, panto time.
-
there are others ive met along the way, alan price set, the honeycombs. but without a ref and date i left them off the guide.
-
the museum as a radio station in it, the bbc,co,uk/hub. loads for kids to play with in units and on walls. you can also pick an episode from a series if its on the list, and go into a little booth and watch it, no charge. jim

Hi there
That could be very true, may be I have and just not known it. My husband works on the railway, and has met a few famous people on the trains. He has even had a few wigan rugby players on his train but he didn't get their autographs for me. lol!
The museum does seem like an interesting place to visit if you are in Bardford. I do quite like visiting musuems.
I think the closest I have probably been to Bradford is Leeds. I've been there quite a few times.

by bus it would take me from my home to town and then to leeds on the bus, over 1 and half hrs.
-
here by bus to town, then deisel, about an hour to get to leeds.
-
now the waether as picked up, i will be going to leeds in the next week or so, i need a new coat, and bradford doesnt have what i want, i like coats with plenty pockets inside and out, a detachable hood. in a dark colour
-
must of our main shops like bhs, c and a, woolworths are now gone.
-
we have the open and closed market, but nothing like i want

I think Leeds is really good for shopping, we don't have many good shops here either. So going to cities to shop is much better, being in Cumbria though it's a bit of pain getting to most places coz it takes so long. Leeds is about a 3 and half hour train journey for us.
Any way I hope you find yourself a coat.

hi
-
bradford is a large town, but as you might have seen in the news at sometime, we hav a large hole in the center that should have been the new shopping centre.
-
but its on hold for the third time.and the shops that where there to start will wont come back they said, even when its built,if ever.
-
if you look on my space, for the google link to my area, then navigate up the page, it will take you to brasford city, as the crow flies im only a mile away, two by bus.
-
from bradford, the leeds rd, will navigate all the way to leeds. lol.
-
you will have heard of meadowhall near sheffield, it was the reason i had to leave work in 1994.
-
i worked as a printer for the architects who designed the complex, and the amount of prints needed was thousands a day,
-
i was on my own, and one day, i collapsed, didnt think anything of it, next day quieter, then the friday, i went down hard, and had to go to the docs, and found i had,had two heart attacks and a mild stroke. after 8 months off, the doc said i had to resign, and ive been on the disable since.

Sorry I took a while to get back to you. I have been busy painting our kitchen and bathroom, so I've literally been up to my elbows in paint lol!
I have heard of meadowhall, that's a shame about what happened to you especially if you enjoyed your work. It must have been quite a scare as well.
