Out of the 7 invites I got yesterday, there are two left for anyone who wants them.

Scratch that, it's now 1 left.

I have couple left too.

At the rate these invites are going it wont be long before everyone who wants one has one! So much for the beta version!

Wouldn't be surprised if they just stick with this "register by word of mouth" approach indefinately. It does seem a very Google thing for them to do.

I've suddenly got 5 more invites myself -- not entirely sure what (if anything) to do with them -- don't know anyone who wants one but doesn't have one yet.

I thought of that, too, Croz. It would definitely be a quicker way to dispose of them than the journal threads and blog methods I've been using...

Well the thread I started in ask last night seems to be having the desired results

I do wish the good folk at Google would make up their minds as to where they are going to list your invites

First it was wrapped around the name of the account at the top right-ish of the page.

Then they changed it to text in red underneath the labels box.

Now today they are sitting in a dark blue bar above the Archive, Report Spam, etc buttons.

I have six brand new, dark blue invites

I have six invites too. Anyone who wants them can drop by my personal space and leave me a note.

Yeah, as soon as I give out one, they add another to my stack, so I always have 6.

I'm getting spam on all of my five gmail accounts now, and every single one of them has the same subject line - 'TOP quality software: Special offer #1: Windows XP Professional' (there may be more but that's all I've been able to see, and naturally I haven't opened any of them).

Anyone else getting these?

I'm getting those -- they all start with some variation on my gmail username. And also Free M0rtgage Qu0tes!!! At least Gmail correctly identifies them all as spam, so they don't end up in my inbox.

I've yet to have an email address stay non-spam, even if I don't give it out.
