I would have offered, but I'm not anywhere within beer range of Z. Besides, I'm fresh out of invites. Give me a week and I'll have more.

There have been some problems but they're not blocking them as a matter of policy. Certainly I've not had any problems e-mailing back and forth with folk on those sort of addresses.

Awesome - thank you so much Gosho.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, Yahoo did not block the Gmail invite - but it was in the "bulk" folder.

Right, I'm off to play with my new toy, la la la.

Sorry Z, GMail doesn't work with Opera at the moment smiley - sadface

Please remember that GMail is in beta mode at the moment and not all of the problems have been ironed out. The message from Google is that they will make GMail compatible with Opera, and that the two parties are working together to make that happen.

I have heard that Opera 7.50 addresses some of these problems. Myself, I've not upgraded to this release, as it's only availabe in US English, so I can't tell you for sure whether that's true.

In the meantime try using a different browser. I'm using Firefox with GMail set as the homepage and I've found that to be a very satisfactory stopgap

GD, I would consider it a great favor if you could find a way to deposit an invite in lemonburner at hotmail dot com (don't ask about the name, I want to change it, one of the reasons I'm eager to try out Gmail)

(and people who do me favors find themselves in good places later... I'm very corrupt and drunk with power... and the italics owe me a coffee mug I didn't have them send smiley - winkeye )

So I shall go to sleep now, expectant, but able to be reconciled in facing disappointment, if the contingency should arise.

smiley - run

smiley - blacksheep
