Presumeably yours is a little quieter though? I've lived in many communities over the years, and not a one of them had the mate-swapping, murders and other general mayhem that most shows depict. I'm obviously doing something wrong ...

If it is going on here I'm missing it... none of that sounds particularly appealing so I guess that's a good thing..

Yeah, I suppose the nightly wails of police or ambulance sirens would get old after a while, eh?
Knowing your appreciation for some "reality" stuff, have you heard much of anything about the next 'Big Brother'? One commercial clip seemed to indicate a great load of previous players put on the block, and the public somehow chooses who goes in ...

I don't actually like reality tv.. I like Amazing Race and I got semi-hooked on Survivor due to PC, who watches all of those things, but past those I don't care..

We usually catch the first 2 epsiodes of the Big Bother, and Survivor. And if none of the personalities look particularly entertaining, we give the whole run a miss. Though the missus does find herself being lured back on quieter nights ...

PC watches all of them.. I got into watching Survivor because before we had DVR he'd always call me from the road to find out what happened on it.. I don't care much for it because it seems the creeps always win.. at least in the last two Amazing Races the ones I was cheering for won..

Indeed, once in a blue moon, the good guy(s) win, eh? I'm just sorry that I dozed off as the dating couple were paddling to the river-boat. I knew they were tossed by then. But I'd love to have seen the attitudes and scowls when the frat-rats lost out. In my opinion, they deserved to lose, just on bad attitude alone.

Yeah.. I hate to admit it but I take a perverse joy in seeing the rotten ones lose.. but even more joy in seeing good people win.. I liked the hippies because through the entire race they were respectful to the local people and you could tell they sincerely loved seeing everything.. even the two times they were last before they found out they were still in the game, they still loved the journey..

I caught parts of a previous series, entire families going the distance around the U.S. One family I simply wanted to see tossed in to the Grand Canyon, vile mother and snotty sons. And yet another was a widowed Mom and daughters, the hardest done by and yet with the best attitudes. I never did see who won that one.

I think it ran last summer, though my memory has been known to be "less than correct" often enough. Age, ya know.

I'm sure you could google it to see who won..

Nawwww, not really that interested, to be honest.
I'm more interested in what culinary delight you'll fabricate today? We had a particularly nice sirloin steak, with 'shrooms and onions, on the BBQ last night, and a good load of potato and pasta salads. Loads left-over for my lunch in a very short time.

"Going to" ... We ate a bit earlier than our usual, with a meeting to attend. It's that time of the year again for a new executive for our Air Force association. Whooo-hooo, huh?

Then I expect you'll certainly get your money's worth from it. And much pleasure.
Our own simple BBQ gets very little use some summers, ... No energy at the end of the really hot and humid days. This year though, it's gotten some very good use already. And now has TWO full tanks of propane.

Always handy.. ours is situated just outside a plate glass door so even when the weather is too hot/humid we'll use it.. beats heating up the kitchen by using the stove anyway

Ours is only a few paces from our back door. But often enough, our later July and the month of August feel like 40+ C by late afternoon. (104 F, humidity factored in) It's like standing in a sauna, and after having put in a working-day in similar conditions, ... It's simpler to re-heat something in our centrally air conditioned house.

I understand.. we will have days like that but luckily every few days of it is broken by a cooling trend so it's never a long stretch..
