Just something to cheer you up as regards books, and the reading of.
Have you visted allreaders.com (not sure about doing urls here yet).
Anyways, it's a scream. They have this table of analytical comment and a points system for all books. The great works of literature are reduced to this:
Pickwick Papers
Main Character
Gender - Male
Profession/status: - unemployed
Age: - 40's-50's
How sensitive is this character? - sensitive to others' feelings
Sense of humor - Strong but gentle sense of humor
Intelligence - Smarter than most other characters
Physique - average physique
Physique? What's Mr Pickwick's physique got to do with anything?
Imagine this scenario:
Eric - "It wasn't a bad read but what I was really interested in wasMr Pickwick's physique."
Have fun
Cheers
Al

Hi Al
I'm sure it makes for interesting reading will have a look when I get time!
Tell me something is Mr P really a lawyer because they all believe it's made up not that it matters to me one way or another ? Just curious. His corruption theory is interesting.
Yes you can post URL's on the DNA boards unless they are deemed to be unsuitable to the BBC. You can either just copy and past the URL and it will appear as it is or you can name the link in Guide ML.
Catch you later hopefully?

Hi BDG
x
Hope you are fine.
I'm not so perky myself this evening, just everyday things get you real low sometimes, and it's pretty hard to snap out of it. Still, I have to stay up Wednesday nights to see Lost on E4 at 11, so that’ll cheer me up, I reckon.
I did write a message earlier but the server went down. I was a tad curious about the identity of Redskies; they only became a member on 05/09, and only posted 2 messages – here and CB – and I just wondered in your experience does it happen often on here. There is a poster on 606 with the moniker Redside, do you think they’re related in any way, or probABLY just coincidence. I think Redside is a reference to Bristol City football club.
Anyways, hope your mood and mine improves, it’s ONLY 15 WEEKS to CHRISTMAS.
LOL.
Cheers
Al

Sorry i didn't answer your ealier post, did I.
Yes, I think Mr P is a lawyer, as he says. He graduated from Oxford, I think.
I should write a journal essay on him when I get the opportunity. I'll keep it in mind for a future project.
BTW, When I was at another low point some months ago, I, - perhaps foolishly in hindsight - posted a thread on the Somerset board entitled 'Have A Nice Day', it ran to about 12 posts. It was my attempt at a short story, and had I have realise h2g2 existed I would have brought it here. Unfortunately, a poster on the Inn cut/pasted the entire thread into a thread on the Avon board, and tried to imply it was offensive in some way. Sorry this is long winded, but do you think that I could work on it and take it to the writers workshop here?
Thanks for the encouragement with the links, the BBC really need to update their image archive, as the centre of Liverpool is rapidly changing and the skyline has altered quite dramatically recently.
Anyways, speak to you soon, going off to watch Lost.
Cheers
Al

Hi Al II
Feeling much brighter today but lots to do so not any time to play today maybe later this evening.
I remember reading your writings at the time and enjoying them I don't often wander the regional boards (until recently!) but I think something lead me there that day cannot remember what. Yes I was appalled at him copying all the threads like that....very that someone should be copying threads from way back he must be a very sad person indeed. What point he was trying to make by doing it I have absolutely no idea and to be honest I don't think anyone else has either.
A few people have had a lot of home truths told to them behind the scenes and they are still "throwing the toys out of the pram". Why I try and reason with them I have no idea because then I get branded as the "trouble maker" still you have to otherwise what's the point eh? I'm not the sort of person that backs down to my cost . Did the thread he posted get pulled btw because I can't find it?!!!! It's a sad for these people who just can't see it isn't it? Mr P does a wonderful job trying to bring them to their senses doesn't he?
I'm not sure about writings for the h2g2 of a creative nature, I mean you can write what you like in an entry but to have it submited to the guide that is for factual topics. There used to be a "Get Writing" community but I'm not sure what happened to that. I'll ask when I get time Smudger will know or ask him he's very friendly you will find Smudger's Snippets in the h2g2 post. That will please at last I've got someone to read the post Hi because he will read this.
Redskies appeared in the CBR2 that night as he latched onto it here anyway the scared him off . Bristol City eh? Rubbish Rovers are much better

Traveller in Time indeed following this thread
"There are also the < <./>/dna/h2g2/underguide</.> > and he < <./>/dna/h2g2/AGGGAG</.> > for the entries not fitting in the Guidelines.
However you do not have to submit it to any review forum if you do not want to. HooToo is however dedicated to create The Guide so it is appreciated if you do so. "

Hi BDG
Thanks for your advice about stuff in my last post.
Do you think the landlord will make an appearance? He's doing his best to pointedly steer every topic onto a local theme.
You will see that our friend Redskies has posted a not so friendly post on my message centre. If you’re new to a place, you don’t start by making demands that people be your friends. The post is highly suspicious, and I have my own ideas as to their real identity.
Oh well…
Cheers
