So far it's been an okay day. Sunny, not too warm. Nesting birds have eaten a whole cake of suet. I've seen new birds flying. Also nuthatches nuttying around.

I made a stew, it's simmering. Went out on the porch. Two new bunnies chasing each other all over our yard and the neighbours' yards. Very funny. Then the big bunny and the chipmunk showed up. And a bluejay.

I'm making SOME progress on the Post, but nature is too entertaining.

I had some "Chinese" flavoured spare ribs for tea

Yesterday I had to go across town to the doctor's. The last time they drew blood, one value came out weird...so they made me wait a couple of weeks and come back, which I did.

They called this morning. All is well. I'll bet somebody got soap on the meter or something.

Drawing blood over there costs money! At least sell it! For a few $$$

Nah, it was covered by the insurance.

Most of it is paid for under Medicare when you're old. You just buy a 'supplemental'. The problem is what else it doesn't pay for.

And you have to have it, or else you can't get any medical care.

I'll never understand "your" health and other social "benefits etc

With what "I've" had need of medically, from 4 yrs onwards in spinal "issues" and other health stuff through life etc.

I hear you! It's a mess and it's entirely due to some people's meanness and greed.

Back in the 30s, FDR wanted to create a health plan for everyone. 'Oh, no, that's socialism!'

So, what's wrong with socialism?

My dad was 16 in 1942. He spent that summer plucking chickens and working in a stockyard in Detroit, far from home. Why?

Because my grandfather had a farm accident in the 1920s sometime. He fell and a horse stepped on his head. They had to mortgage the farm to get him surgery. And my dad had to help them pay off that debt.

Lots of stories like that. This is why you don't vote for those right-wing people, ever. They will let. people. die.

I'm interested to see what she comes up with, but not very hopeful that it will be insightful. I'd like to be surprised.
