Jews_in_Space Posted May 25, 2006
I maiised my one-year aniversary! It was on the 23rd.
It's Day! All right, I cheated a little in school and kept it in my bag, but I'm already "the weird one" and I don't need any encouragement in that direction. I did have it out for my art class later, though - but I was the only one who showed up!

I know. I miss my old school.
I'm doing okay. It's a long weekend and I'll probably see some friends tomorrow, plus it's Shavuot on Friday so I can skip school that day . How are you doing?
Hello
Yael Smith Posted May 30, 2006
You can skip school due to Shavuot? How nice! Are you going to have lots of lovely cheesey things on friday, then?
I'm OK. My baby makes me very happy and very tired. Both kids are lovely, so I can't complain. Much.... I suppose I've missed Lag B'Omer if it's already Shavuot. What do you do on Shavuot at home?

At my school, if you have to take time off for a religious reason, no one dares question you!
I don't know about cheesey things (I'm not a huge fan of cheese), but I will have lots of dairy.
I think what we're going to do is walk to shul (5 miles ) on Friday and then stay over at some friends' house for Saturday. Oh, and also stay up really late/all night on Thursday. It should be fun

Sounds like fun. What about dressing in white clothes and playing hide and seek in the vineyards? Don't mess with tradition! Are you reading the book of Ruth?
Hello

I'll wear whit"ish". Unfortunately, we don't have a local vineyard, but my shul is in the same building as my old school, so there's plenty of room and the odds for Capture the Flag look pretty good. I assume we'll be doing Ruth at shul.
It looks like it might rain. If it does, there go *all* our plans. Belgium.

Long-overdue update: Shavuot went well, it didn't start raining until it was time to leave shul, and anyway we were going to a friend's house that's really close to the shul. We stayed over there that night and went to shul the next day. No hide-and-seek, but we did play capture the flag and lots of foosball.
I forgot to say this earlier (when it was relevant) but Towel Day this year was on the 42nd day of the Omer!

If I survived my Chemistry finals a few years back, I'd be a nurse by now....

School's out! I'm FREE!!!!! ....until August 30th.
I just virtually burned all my school stuff on N3...and Yogurt's doing it in Real Life.
Tomorow I'm not getting up at 6:15. I'm getting up when *I* want. In fact, I'm not getting up. At all. Period.
