Hm, the reason is, oh mighty king, that I designed it to go up rather than down, so that you become so disoriented you can't find your way out.

how does that ryme go anyway? all i remember is 'wednesday's child is full of woe' (and only because someone already mentioned it). but i *can* tell you why that is:
wednesday's child is full of woe because he (or she) can't go out and party on his (or her) birthday because thursday is usually a workday. if your day is monday or tuesday you can party a day or so early and get it in on the weekend. thursday you only have to wait a day until you can party on friday. the weekend is self explanatory. but wednesday is kind of a no man's land in the middle of the week.
so here's for all the wednesday babies
