Isn't turning worms a fishing metaphor? probably not.
Hi, Mr. Scott. Now I know your name. But I still can't tell you if you know me...

Soliloquy, Ed; S-O-L-I-L-O-Q-U-Y.
Nice rant, Mr. Odie. I wish I'd written that. What's happened, out of interest? Well, I can guess, but I don't know anything for certain.

As for Miss Emily, I'll explain what Huxley's up to later... He's just being incredibly pathetic at the moment and should grow up... Anyway, I can't explain now as he's probably being nosey and reading this...
Farewell,
Mr. Odie x

Mister Frisky / don't know where, don't know when Posted Oct 14, 2000
Mr. Odie, the promise I made yesterday is possibly the only promise I've ever kept. I swear by my box sets that I HAVE NOT TOLD A SOUL, AND NEVER WILL unless you permit me to. Which you haven't, though I somehow get the feeling you never will.
FINE... I drop the threat (which I can assure you I was too cowardly to carry out in the first place), but if you continue to make false accusations such as this I will report you to whoever runs this site for breaking these rules:
1. You agree not to use the forum to transmit material that
- promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm of any kind against any
group or individual;
Or this one:
- that contains advertising or other forms of commercial
solicitation.
So far you have promoted hatred against an individual (myself) and frequently advertised "Gimme Gimme Gimme" and Emily's script.

For pets' sake, I do NOT dislike you for being gay. I accepted that long ago. I have plenty of other reasons to dislike you right now...

I even had to register with this wretched thing to reply to your message...

And ruin my air of mystery? It's all on my home space, if you care so much. And no, I don't think you know me...

Mr. Odie, Man's Best Friend {not quite deceased} Posted Oct 14, 2000
Okay,
I basically haven't read any of the new entries since Mr. Friskey's were posted this morning so here's another one of my outbursts explaining my position...
I would like to make it quite clear that I have not broken any of the guidelines for h2g2... I have merely expressed opinions on a variety of subjects and, Huxley, have not brought up any points that could imply hatred of any sort or anything similar... I may have insulted you and I apologise, I was a bit too harsh in my rant but this was merely to get a point across... I shouldn't really have to ask you not to tell anybody as it's none of your business but I'm pleased to see that you won't... And, out of interest, I have it on extremely good authority that if you were to tell anyone my business you could be severely punished for breach of human rights, expelled at the least... And I really wouldn't want to do that or anything similar to anybody... I'd also appreciate it if you'd stop saying "Shut up, you poof" at the top of your voice as this is most offensive, irritating and really out of order...
And as for the advertising claim... Bringing up a television series in an entry or writing an entry concerning one does not make it advertising automatically... If I were to tell you when Gimme Gimme Gimme was shown on BBC2, Mondays at 10pm, that still would not be advertising... If you browse h2g2 you will find an entry revolving entirely around Durex condoms (a brand name) that has been around for ages... This also is not advertising despite the fact that it delves deep into the capabilities of each condom, etc... When it says advertising it is referring to advertisments concerning the members' own products or companies where the advertising would directly benefit them... Telling people when a sitcom is on so that they would be able to join in a discussion about it is not advertising... Neither is advertising you own personal web site, so long as that itself isn't an advertisement for a business... Everything clear now? Good...
I really must stop these rants... They don't suit me...
Farewell,
Mr. Odie

(Before I start, please refer to MISTER FRISKY, not the OTHER name you labelled me with. And I'm NOT talking about the mis-spelling of my name.)
Apology accepted. Please understand the author of this message sees the word "poof" as an inoffensive remark that could mean a variety of things - for instant, disappearing in a cloud of dust - but most prominently, the author's overwhelming amount of respect of the might of one William the Bloody (as portrayed by one James Marsters; likes to be known as Spike), thus producing such outbursts.
Expect peculiar ür-British accent soon.
(And I was joking about the advertising remark, man...)

So how many GGGs have I missed in the current rerun?
(Alas, a sitcom that makes me laugh, and yet I never notice it in the schedules...)
*poof* (a BPB phenomenon, believe me...)

Oh and hello.

Hey, what's in a name. Everyone needs one and I chose this (as opposed to having it chosen for you, a tradition I object to but dare not prevent). It may not be the most original one ever (stolen from a brilliant sitcom), but it serves its purpose in defining me as both a cat lover and an opposite to Mr Odie.
Oh and I was very hurt by your remark on Wednesday - I mean, hello.

It's reassuring to see that even "Mr. Frisky" acknowledges that we are the antithesis or one another...
And, if you've read my other journal entry, you'll be aware how much I despise cats... I never knew you were a cat lover so I'd like to make it clear it's nothing personal...
Anyway, we seem to have trailed from the point of this forum... Let's get back along the straight and narrow, as it were...
Hello, Mr. Tumnus...
And, Lucinda, I'll admit that with a name like yours I had expected you to be a female woman type person... How wrong can one guy be?
Farewell,
Mr. Odie

I never knew either, until a few weeks ago. Now I'm hooked.
You have to get to know your cat before you can like 'em (I was forced to live with one for a fortnight, and by the end of it I think he was avoiding me more than I did him at the start). Though the example you mention probably would be a bad start into the world of kittens.
Oh, one more thing - don't OWN a cat, just live next door to a really nice one.
