It's certainly an insult to Tarantino, although I think QT is probably capable of selectively editing it down to 150 minutes and leaving the 3-hour version as a Director's Cut.
If anyone's likely to keep me glued to my seat it's him.

People pay twice for two 1.5 hour films....
Would they be that cynical?
Shiver me timbers!
Mu Beta Posted Aug 11, 2003
Well, if you'd paid to see the first one, there's not a lot else you can do.
The whole thing does indeed reek of marketing.

Look, I've just read your nickname for the first time, B.
Would it help if I pointed out that the Governor of california is *Gray* Davis, and not indeed the bloke from the Kinks at all?

Kerr,
you didn't like American Beauty? I thought it was sublime satire on the whole American way of life thing. People in Spain kept telling me they found it way too exaggerated - and I kept telling them it wasn't exaggerated at all.
I'm Canadian, and part of the reason I left to live in Europe - first in England and later Spain - was the fact that Canada was becoming more American each day. And this was 12 years ago.
To be honest, I think I will feel sad when people in Spain can watch a film like American Beauty and totally relate to it.
But I did think it was an excellent film.

Yes, I am fully aware that the Governor of CA is called Gray Davis. I was trying to be amusing in my own sad little way, OK?
I think I might change my nickname, now you're the third person to point that out.

I thought that American Beuaty was class, I only saw it for the first time about a week and a half ago still not quite sure how I managed to miss it.

Well, quite. Frankly what political experience does the fellow have? I'm under the impression (but may be wrong) that the answer is about as much as the flying saucer man....

Same as Ronnie Reagan did...
I think he'd do a reasonably good job - he's obviously not as corrupt as Gray, and he is deceptively intelligent.

Err, who Blues, the flying saucer man? That was a reference to Reg Presley- he's quite a dedicated Ufologist.
Arnie's on the right-wing side- not too far for my tastes, but I'm sure Blues has other feelings

Reasonably good job of what? Correcting one of the biggest State deficits in the world?
With what experience and policies? California is shafted atm.
Its gonna take more than some pumped up biceps and a witty catchphrase to wipe out one of the biggest state deficits in the world...

Yeah. Not sure why he hasn't converted to full-on Marxism yet.

because, as orwell once said 'Any man who has not been a communist bythe age of twenty has no heart. Any man who is still a communist that age of thirty has no brain.'
Though I'd rather be a commie than a Tory or a Republikan. At least commie propaganda looks good...

Don't you believe it. In fifty years time, people will study the 1922 Committee constitution as fabled piece of right-wing nonsense.
