I prefer it actually, but I mean really, large nachos and a diet coke? What in gods name was I thinking about?

Well don't. The only sensible way to lose weight is to exercise more, not drink diet cokes or Sainsbury's lite meals, or whatever they're called.

Oh krist, those thinga are packed with salt and god knows what else anyway, so pointless and still bad for you...
Exercise? Hmm, I remember doing that once. I need to go clubbing more regularly. That would sort it out...
Shiver me timbers!
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Aug 13, 2003
You're the only person I know who thinks of clubbing when exercise is mentioned...
I meant cycling, walking, running, that sort of thing.

Hey, dancing works for me...all the rest involves things like not being round attractive women...
It was a combination of clubbing and LARP that kept my weight down for years.

Um, well if you feel the desire to dress up in a kilt and start chasing people with wooden swords, just let me know so I can be elsewhere.

Oh,nothing as organized as that...
Used to scare the sh*t out of the local poulation from time to time though...
Shiver me timbers!
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Aug 13, 2003
Well, yes. Our local Scout/Guide camp doubles as a LARP setting- some parents get very worried when they drop their darlings off for the weekend and see hairy men in masks waving clubs around.

We have used a local scout camp before now. As it right next to Stansted Airport and we quite often used blank firing waeapons and smoke bombs the local old bill got quite accustomed to us...

They only sent the armed boys once. That was when our mate Roger the Ranger (he is, scarily, warden of the local Country Park) provided us with a smoke bomb assuring us it was 'only a tiddler'.
We started to get worried when the runways started to get obscured...

Oops. Yes, that would cause alarm. I image you came out of that one feeling rather ish. Our Scouting games resulted in armed police twice. Once when we'd been cutting brush back, and the police had had reports of "three adults and a group of teenagers, all carrying swords". For which read a Venture unit and their leaders, in uniform, carrying machettes. Some people arfe stupid...

Actually, the Police thought it was quite funny. I think they quite liked us. Sort of 'local nutters'. Stansted is the back of beyond as far as postings go so they are quite grateful to have something to do.
Swords, machetes...what are you moaning about? But you are right, people are very stupid.
Shiver me timbers!
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Aug 13, 2003
Glad of the excitement, eh? My complaint wasn't getting swords and machettes confused, it was the fact that we were all very clearly in uniform, with our unit number and location on our shoulders- if the person that 'phoned the police had said "there's a uniformed scout group wandering around with machettes/swords should they be doing?" The police could have checked with district headquarters, and wthin one or two 'phone calls been told, "yes, they should". Instead they said "help, there's a bunch of nutters wandering around with swords", so the police came rushing out, went "oh, it's you lot", and buggered off again. Wasted effort.

Ah, a bunch of uniformed nutters. You could have been the face of the revolution you know.
People are very odd about uniforms in this country. Even at Fetish Clubs.
Shiver me timbers!
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Aug 13, 2003
Hmm, I take your point. But *scout* uniforms, for Heaven's sake? It's got to be the least threatening, most English uniform going...
Next thing you know, people will be reporting St. George's Day parades as 'fascist marches".

I've never thought about wearing a scout uniform to a fetish club.
It has interesting possibilities - Good with knots and I can do a neat treak with me woghgle and me lanyard...
