hello trying to catch up on things...hope you are well.. and certainly well travelled.. oregon is supposed to be stunning.. you lucky thing. how did you find the californian mentality.. is it all laid back and beautiful [superficial and shallow] as we envisage?? or is that all a front?
its a country that amazes me with such diversity.. ok it is a huge country, but it has it all really.. from the tropical feel of florida, to the colder north, the deserts and the ski resorts in colorado... and it had 2 disney lands

california was - difficult
I was seven years old and spoke no English when we arrived there
What got to me was the fact that there were absolutely no seasons!

i like autumn and winter but rather it cold than wet... we never get snow in cardiff.. citys too hot i reckon it just falls as sleet.
maybe i should travel up to scotland to see what our weather should be like.. you know the yellow spring flower the daffodil..well its our national emblem [or one of them] apparently if global warming continues it will die out in 20 years, as it needs the cold to survive. it may survive in higher colder places

my hubby loves daffodils.. i only think they are ok.. nice to see them after the winter, but nothing to rave about.. i prefer blue bells especially a bluebell wood, and the wild garlic... lovely

I don't think I have a favourite flower.

mmmnn i agree, its hard to pinpoint one in particular... i suppose most flowers are pretty nice....probably i prefer the scent to the flower.. take honey suckle ok to look, nothing special, but when you get a waft of that gorgeous smell..
i also love the smell of hydrangers [i could be wrong about their name, spring flowering bulb??] anyway one year i asked him to plant some around the house so i could enjoy their smell... which he did, he planted loads...
only i had a stinker of a cold/chest infection and i couldn't smell a single thing!!! so they bloomed and our neighbour was raving about the lovely smell, but i didn't get to smell them the entire 3 weeks they bloomed
this is quite typical of my luck
ps i'm sure name of bulb is wrong but my brain will not let me remember, for i am fast becoming senile i think

hydrangea!
I like lilacs for smell. We have lovely old fashioned ones with a light, dark rimmed flower.

by god i've got it.. hyacyinths thats the ones...actually i asked my hubby last night as i got into bed
they have a very strong perfume.
it was quite unnerving losing my sense of smell for so long, things like i couldn't smell meat to check its alright, anyway it came back after a few weeks and then i could smell his socks again

yes i don't want to put you off marriage... but the excellent behaviour soon falls by the wayside, and well emissions are inevitable.. along with toilet seats up, leaving damp towels in a crumpled pile, smelly socks etc etc honestly sometimes is a better choice

we must mould them to the ways of cleanliness and all things decent... its not nagging really..more like constant education

but more importantly for the good of all women... know what drives me mad... towels he thinks they will dry after being used when left in a crumpled heap...
how many times must i ask him to just drape it over the towel rail.. its no more effort than dropping it on floor, just drop over towel rail.. but so far hes proving extremely resistant to this request...

I know what you mean. And how hard *is* it to open a bra strap? And as for teh act they go through when they have the slightest cold...
