Malabarista - now with added pony Started conversation Nov 3, 2011
I have little enough time for h2g2 these days as it is, and getting flooded with everyone's journal entries is simply overwhelming. I have no time to read them, and no particular desire to spend hours per day on them, but feel obligated when they crop up in my list.
So everyone that's participating: I'm taking you off my friends list. Nothing personal - remind me to put you back after the month is over.

"Nothing personal"? Why is it that girls always say that to me after a while?
Y. - hoping you get through these days allright.

I can understand that Mala, I feel guilty not responding to each and everyone - so I hope people won't feel neglected or take it personally, but I will try my best to at least read a few each day, but I will not be able to keep subscribed to them all. Sorry.
The good news is that the site is busy, and that people are participating. We need that enthusiasm to spill over into Peer Review. The statistics that I have been allowed to peep at show that we have a lot of readers, and they are reading our backlog of Guide Entries.

I think the trouble with all the journals is that Peer Review posts quickly drop off my conversation list, so I miss them although I am subscribed. It's only for a month, though.

I thought about the "try to read as many as possible" idea, and decided that "as many as possible" right now is none at all. And if I ignore even one person's, it's only fair to ignore everyone's...

Your not going to miss much... not in mine anyhow Though I'm not lookign forward to the baklog, now the site seems busier, whenw I get back from this week away... Hopefully I'll find some time to check in whilst I'm away though, otherwise it take forever to try and catch up

I agree, Mala. The journal entries are overwhelming. I'm not going to unsub, but I will remove the entries daily, since I've got to get the h2g2 work done...
I hope the journal project will get a group of people involved who weren't involved before, and get visitors to the site.
But you, me, and all the people who usually do something else...
Should keep on keeping on, methinks.

I'm glad I'm not alone, Mala
Forgive me, but w*rking as a sub-editor every day from 6am to 1.30pm gives me quite enough to read as it is
Keep up the good w*rk though

I've made a deal with myself that although I can read them all, I'm under no pressure to respond unless I really have something to contribute.

Mala, I quite understand. I don't have time to read all of these journals either, but I'm giving it my best shot.
I'll be in touch once it's all over.

You can re-add me now! I forgot to post a journal yesterday so there's not really much point in continuing with it.

No, keep going Mr D. It doesn't have to be a 100% complete journal of the month.

I've been persuaded to keep going.
I won't get The Book, but at least I'll have written a load of drivel that a small amount of people will feel obligated to read.

They are rather overwhelming aren't they - what a talkative bunch we are!
I don't feel pressure to read them all, but its nice to know that there will ALWAYS be something new and interesting for me to read in any spare time I get.
