And I didn't even have any parcels.
Posted Dec 29, 2005
Hey all, it's another irregular, rambling, pointless instalment in my journal.
You may recall that I hired a car to drive over to my sister's in Lancashire this Christmas. Anyhow, today I returned it, which would have been perfectly simple had we not been a tad short of luggage space on Friday. See, to fit in all my other sister's family's stuff (excessively larger boxes for presents mostly) we took out the parcel shelf and left it at hers.
Naturally the necessity of returning the shelf slipped my mind until yesterday and I received no answer when I phoned the house. Sister and niece stopped a few extra days in Lancashire, so it was only sister's boyfriend who should be around. But he wasn't around last night, nor this morning when I called.
Fortunately work is extremely quiet at the moment (main activity is huddling around a gas fire indulging in intellectual conversation hem hem), so I got let out at half one. Even more fortunately, sister had returned. Turns out her boyfriend has been in Stockton, which explains his failure to answer phone and door.
Got told off by my dad who had tried phoning me on my mobile to say that sister had the parcel shelf, only to find I'd left it at home. I pointed out that I couldn't have answered it whilst driving anyhow and I only stopped driving at sister's by which time the phone call would have been redundant. He does not accept my impeccable logic.
Anyhow, Arriva Rentals were pleased to have their car returned with parcel shelf, and I got to do some shopping in the sales. Got some good, cheap DVDs, but was also tempted into Burton's by the sign advertising a suit for £65. Spiffy. I also got a coat which wasn't in the sale, but which I think looks rather good.

And when Bagpuss wakes up...
Posted Dec 8, 2005
All his friends wake up too. You've probably seen this list around already:
1. Have we met?
2. If so, where and when? If not, where and when would you like to?
3. What's the first thing you remember about me?
4. Do we stay in touch? Would you like it if we saw more of each other (or got the chance to meet)?
5. Would you consider me an internet acquaintance, internet friend, buddy, stalker, friend, close friend, best friend, family, lover or not a friend at all?
So reply and post it yourself. Ta.

Oh dear, these are absolutely hilarious: http://www.superdickery.com/dick/1.html
I can't think of anything to add, except look out for the WWII propaganda ones which refer to the 'Japanazis'. Must... resist... making... stupid... Americans... joke.
In other news, watch Family Guy tonight on BBC2. It's great.
