I've just been for a PGCE interview. Well, two interviews and a little English test. Anyway, the maths course tutor told me he's recommending me for admission in September, which is pretty definite but not officially final. Should get the actual offer letter soon, which means come next year I'll be in classrooms.

Important decision
Posted Feb 27, 2010
I'm trying to make an important decision at the moment. You may recall that my Wii was stolen back before Christmas, leaving me with lots of games and no console.
I could buy another Wii, but I've never really had lots of people playing on mine - that seems to happen at other houses - and I think I'd like to try something else, trading the games in. A DS is tempting, but then I've got a shiny new PC that plays games, so I might get a controller of some description for that. There's one shop that sells DVDs as well as games, so I can trade the games in there and buy boxsets.

You must phone the Jobcentre on Christmas Day
Posted Jan 13, 2010
Dear Mr. Bagpuss,
I am sorry to tell you that we cannot backdate your Jobseeker's Allowance from 25.12.09 to 28.12.09. This is because we have decided that you did not have a good reason for the delay in making your claim.

Burgularised
Posted Nov 29, 2009
On Wednesday my laptop and Wii got stolen, after some idiot (me) left the bathroom window open, so sadly I won't be around much until I get a new PC. A cheap one, seeing as work is under administration giving me no job security.
In the interests of having something cheerful to say, I went to a bridge competition yesterday as part of the Leeds Uni B team and we did pretty well. Most importantly we finished ahead of Leeds A and did pretty well in the games against them. For those who understand such things we ended with +9 IMPs to their +3, having taken 18 in three hands when we played them.

Moving house. Probably.
Posted Jul 16, 2009
I just went to meet a prospective housemate. See, two friends of mine are heading darn sarf for (at least) a few years and, rather than sell their present house, intend to rent it out. It seems a pretty good deal - rent is slightly cheaper than current place, though I think we will be paying water rates and council tax, which is covered in current rent. Also it's a pretty nice house and they've just had it rewired, so is unlikely to explode whilst I'm there.
Anyhow, prospective housemate and I did recognise each other from having met before (like some people thought we would), and it seems like we'd get on and not be at each other's throats over whose turn it is to do the cleaning and stuff.
