If you can't sleep...
Ellen Posted Jul 24, 2009
Hello Effers, what's new? An old high school friend came in town this week. It was great to see her -- we looked at my old Star Wars scrapbooks. PS I have another mandala in the Post, a fun one!

Hi JEllen. I see from your journal thread you are having sleep problems I didn't feel comfortable posting there, so will do here. That machine thing does sound a bit iffy to me. But ultimately its your choice and I respect that. In terms of sleep problems which I continually have...the only thing I now trust, when it gets really bad is modern pharmaceuticals. And not addictive ones obviously. Olanzapine isn't a addictive.
I don't have much advice though because I know how complex it is depending on your life events/style and the ongoing struggle with mood swings/bipolar. Only you know your own life and what suits you.
But it ain't easy; I sympathise because I don't think there are any easy answers.
Anyhow I'm posting to you here, because I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you on the other thread.

Thank you Effers!
You know, I don't think I could be happy or satisfied if I didn't give this a try. I would always be wondering, what if? Besides, it's just bleeping money! LOL I can live without my steady stream of DVDs for a few months.

Hey Effers. How goes it? Wanted to let you know that I am sleeping better. Much much better. I have Paul McKenna to thank.

Good to hear you're sleeping better, JEllen. Paul McKenna who'd have thunk it.
My sleep is okayish of late...in fact I'm happiest asleep as my waking mood is pretty awful, and has been for sometime. I'm trying different meds and trying hard to make the effort to *do* more...but it really is a hell of an effort.
Christ I hate this illness. I really do.
But good to hear about your sleep. Sleep is lovely. Unconscious - yes please.

I'm sorry your mood is so poor. Maybe some of my up mood will rub off! I hope you feel better soon. Be sure to get some sunlight -- it helps. I'm taking Vitamin D3, and it has improved my functioning dramatically.

Heard through the rumormill that you were having a hard time lately. Hope you feel better soon. I've been baking gluten free brownies for Christmas.

Hey JEllen. Happy Christmas to you Actually things are a bit better of late.
I'm having plenty of alcohol for my christmas, but will be having free range turkey this year, which I hope will taste better than the usual battery birds. Hope you enjoy those gluten free brownies.

Wishing you a happy new year, JEllen....and better sleep. Hope those Brownies were good. I developed a real crush on cheeses over christmas. Yes I've always loved them, but this year I think I much preferred them to meat, ( am I turning veggie?) Actually I very much doubt it as am having partridge wrapped in bacon tomorrow for New Year's Day dinner...with a big helping of swede mash and baked pears

Happy New Year! I have a cold and sore throat. *sigh* Oh well, there are worse ways to bring in the New Year.

Actually, I rather like the name "Flying Ants", and think you should keep it!

Yes I know. It's a bit of a dilemna. I only changed it because of problems with the new sign in thing. And thought to change it back after transition, when I was sure it could be done, specifically on h2g2.
I'm not sure what I'll do though. I've had a bit of sniping, such as, 'Oh I can't keep up with all the name changes'
So I'll see.
Nice to hear from you. I finally managed to do a bit more art stuff recently, and have submitted a short film for an exhibition. But if it gets rejected, that will be a bit depressing...but it won't be the first time.
It seems you are getting on with your painting well. I love that you are able to do that. It gives me hope.
Oh and a That's always very important.
