At present all my creative energies are going into making an artwork of my garden - it's excellent for my soul and the local wildlife. Please send me more images of your paintings as they continue.

Hi Effers, good to hear from you!

Oh you poor thing, only four hours of sleep a night. That's tough! If I were sleeping that little an amount, I'd be very manic. I hope you're not feeling too stretched thin.

I'm doing pretty good. I have three paintings I'm working on right now -- one is a second try at the yellow and pink roses, one is Leo Dicaprio, and one is the Wiz of Oz. Happy with all of them so far. We'll see if that continues into the second layer on them!

I went to the doctor today for a checkup, and she wants me to lower my cholesterol by 16 points. So maybe I'll buy some Cheerios, swap the ice cream for yogurt, and eat more veggies.

You'll never guess what I've been trying!... Bellydancing! I'm not very coordinated, and I can't go very fast, but I like it. I'm not taking an actual class, I'm just learning from DVDs.

Gotta run, phone call. Later dudette.

Whoo Hoo Belly dancing smiley - laugh I tried it years ago on a trip to Turkey...I was utterly hopeless. Any kind of proper dancing isn't my forte.

>and she wants me to lower my cholesterol by 16 points. So maybe I'll buy some Cheerios, swap the ice cream for yogurt, and eat more veggies<

I sympathise. My blood pressure is a bit high and the doc told me to cut back on the juice. Yeah some chance. I smoke and drink too much but eat incredibly healthily. Loads of fresh veg curries, stews, stir fries, fish, yoghurt etc. No sugar, no fry ups.

She said..'well you might get lung cancer, or cirrhosis of the liver, but not colon cancer..'

Hi Effers, I'm really sick. Got a bad cough, cold, and sore throat. Have had it for about a week now. May go to the doctor Monday, but I am a bit better than I was.

Thanks Effers!

I got my hip scarf in the mail to use for bellydancing. Now I just have to hurry up and get well so I can use it. It's beautiful, black with gold coins.

I went to the doctor's and got some medicine, which helped for a week, but now I'm out. Overall I'm much improved, but still coughing a wee bit.

I had a bit of a fluey cold at the weekend myself which is now getting better, but I got all panicky about swine flu because some children got it in a school near me; the school was closed. So far only very few people have got it here in the UK...but given my personality I find it hard not to get neurotic.

I'm very pleased you're much improved smiley - smiley

Hey, Effers, I saw your cinema thread! Excellent thread.

Glad you like it smiley - ok

Yes it sometimes good to think about particularly brilliant scenes in a film, which can mark it out, rather than a whole film.

I mentioned Bullit at the beginning of the thread. Do you like it? It's one of my favourite films, as much for the superb sound track as the visuals...I think it's amazingly sophisticated, and I like that it deals with the contrast between Lieutennant Bullit, (Steve MCQueen)'s harsh life and that of his girl friend.

I watched the 3/1/2 hour 'Once upon a time in America' last night on tv...it finished at 4am smiley - laugh I was a bit disappointed with its sentimentality juxtaposed with the most horrendous violence...and I didn't like the overly simplistic sound track music...but I'll watch anything with Robert de Niro in it. smiley - biggrin

Like you though, I absolutely love film/movies.

Hi Effers, I missed your post somehow. Haven't been posting much to hootoo. I don't think I've seen either of those flicks. Have I talked to you since I saw the movie Up? It made me cry, but in a good way.

'Up'? No...It'll come to our telly eventually though. I'll watch it then. I'm a bit retrospect in the way I watch films smiley - laugh

I'm afraid my artistic output is pretty much zero of latesmiley - erm I hope it comes back. But it cheers me to hear you're at it.

So how did your painting class go?

It went great! I'm thinking of signing up for another! There weren't many other people there, it was a small group, but I'm happy with my painting. The teacher was friendly and laid back.

I had a quiet Fourth of July over here. Sorry to be so long getting back to you. I've been rather neglecting hootoo lately.
