I see you're interested in my collection of seed packets, they are quite rare I suppose. Acquaintances send me seeds from all over the world.
And the old bottles on that top shelf? No, please don't touch, some of them are dangerous. Yes, they are from long ago when gardeners were allowed to use a lot more chemicals than they are these days.
Can I make you a cup of tea? No?
Yes, I am certain that there'll be providing refreshments in the house.
You're interested in why I work here? Yes, you're right - I am over the official retirement age, but you kow how it is, pensions for gardeners are not very large. I would also never be able to afford to have as much space to grow the things I love unless I keep this job. So I suppose it's because there are rare plant species here that I've tended over the years and I don't want to give that up.
Oh, you're off again? Well thanks for dropping by. Oops, sorry about that jug - I hope you didn't trip. I'm just polishing it for Cook. She says she dislikes the smell of silver polish in the House when she's cooking.
