It seems the weather forecast was right. Its been dark, wet and windy all day here and cold with it. I had to venture out however as I had a dentist appt. All went ok until the dentist started cleaning said teeth and a tooth broke.
I now have to go back for at least 2 more rounds of treatment to have a crown fitted. The dentists task isn't made easy as it appears the high doses of nitrate heart meds I take apparently affects the enamel and make teeth more fragile than usual. I've already been warned that I will probably lose them all at some stage and end up with false teeth. To quote the dentist, its more when not if.
Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. (hmm, me thinks there may be a pun in there somewhere
)
Right, time to batten down the hatches, haven't got to go anywhere in particular for next day or two so the weather can do its worse.

Today I've been playing with a new CAD program in which I put in the room sizes and layout of my flat. I then went through various colour schemes in preparation for the re-decoration that will happen when the bathroom has been modernised. I still haven't made my mind up whether to wallpaper or just paint (its painted throughout at present). If I go for wallpapering I'd have to get someone in to do that. I'm a dab hand with a paintbrush
but can't wallpaper to save me life.
There's no rush on that front as whatever I decide won't happen till after completion of works.
The extra sockets fitted during the wiring work are great, no more extension leads trailing across the floor which means no trip hazards. It should also stop the fire safety inspector from wincing when he saw how much stuff was loaded via the limited sockets that were here before.
So on that happy note tis time for a 
and have another go at breaki......err, I mean, using the new win 10 system.

There is an old saying that you can't please all the folk all the time. I think its appropriate for todays blast.
I've noticed a minority of comments from folk not taking part in najopomo who seem to take umbrage at the number of jounals and subsequent postings and think its nothing more than spamming or flooding. Funny that. I wonder if that same minority are on FB or Twitter with all the dross and fodder for the braindead that gets posted there?
At least this November challenge increases activity across hootoo and afterall, isn't the other complaint, again from a minority, that there's not much activity around hootoo?
Its also not gone unnoticed that the same few complaining don't appear to do much around hootoo at any time of the year so does make one wonder just exactly what it is folk expect.
So for the benefit of those not interested, (which probably means not reading this anyway
)how about doing something for the Edited Guide or commenting in PR or even do sumat for The Post?

In other news I had to fast from 9pm last night through to 9.30am today in order to have a re-run of blood tests.
It appears the cardiologist wasn't happy with the results when I saw her last month and wanted them doing again. Its possible that the new painkilling med I'm on may have affected the results so they're doing a re-run to make sure.
Oh, and yes, I did manage to break the new win 10 system yesterday. I loaded it up with additional software and games. The irony I suppose was it happened to be a Microsoft game, Halo, that seem to be the final straw.Tis all working again now though.

A flying visit here today.
Tis Tuesday and I'm doing my usual rounds of shopping, laundry and other chores. My slot for use of the laundry room is between 2 and 5pm on Tuesday's while wash is underway gives me a breather in between chores.
The wiring work is now completed in the flat so that just leaves the new bathroom to be done, which hopefully will be in the next 3 to 6 mths. I won't decorate till that's done then I'll blitz the place, (with some help from my brother).
I'm going to load a mega load of software onto the win 10 system later to see how it works etc. (and see if I can break it. )
Reet, gotta scoot off so have a good day all, what's left of it.
I succumbed and put the main heating on for first time last night, it got somewhat chilly here after dark. Fortunately that's one distinct advantage of living here, heating is all inclusive with no limits and thankfully, no mega bills either.

First a footnote to yesterdays journal re win 10 preview. As I mentioned it isn't for the faint hearted or computer novice not sure how to run multiple OS or not confident about repairing a pc when a beta system fails. Classic example was today. I fired up the pc running the preview and without any warning it went into full re-install mode entirely off its own back. No warnings, no error messages or codes, nothing shown in the error log as to why. Its up and running again now and at least on this occasion it did remember previous settings and programs so not too bad in the end.
As mentioned earlier we've been undergoing a programme of mega modernisation works at home. We've had new windows and doors and new, modern bathrooms are next on the agenda. During the fitting of windows on the 1st floor levels we had to have a specialist firm in for asbestos removal. All the boards and panels under the eaves were all asbestos. Licences had to be obtained for the safe removal and we've had guys working in sealed tent's (for want of a better description) on the scaffolding, dressed in suits that make those treating ebola look 'skimpy' by comparison. At one stage they even had special breathing devices, (not unlike oxygen tanks). When the asbestos was removed we then had to wait for Enviromental Health bods to carry out air quality tests before the 'tents' etc could be taken down and then the window fitters could move in accordingly. All windows and doors are now completed so we now await the next phase, bathrooms, which we're told will happen over the next 3 to 6 mths.
Once this is done I'll then set about decorating my flat. I haven't done anything to it since I moved here as it would have been pointless while all this structural work has been ongoing. I've had wiring work and heating installations over the last year so have lots of plaster work repaired/patched as a result.
We'll get there in the end, as they say.
