Ford's Prequel

Stavro comes from Mostly Harmless. He makes a passing reference to Ford going to Stavro Alpha while in New York, so I figured I'd make a passing reference to it while we're still there.
Basicly its just someplace for Ford to get a drink and dance with girls, we can figure out the peer group later
Two things Ford has to do before leaving New York though:
He needs the pair of shoes he loses in Mostly...
And he needs a new towel Or is Marks and Spencers in UK? Actually it probably is, forget I mentioned it.
It's hinted that he basicly goes worldwide before he returns to Coventry...or does he meet Arthur in London? We'll have to check that out.
My point is, we can send him to a mutually unexplored country...and just make EVERYTHING up as we go along Or get some other writers from other countries.
How does one undertake a cyber-shanghai?

Have patience, I'm stuck between being a bit busy, and, well; being a bit stuck.
I think the inherent problem was Fords time on Earth was, for the most part, boring. That was kind of the point, right?
If you have any ideas where to go next pop them in, by all means If not, inspiration should strike soon. Maybe paralell universe? W.S.O.F.G.M.M.?

Hi MBH, are you busy at the moment, if so I'll just have to keep the prequel going on my own, we could do with input from others to spice up it's direction
Regards

I keep getting sidetracked thinking where to go
I like the cabdriver idea, good possibilitys for interactions. If you have a direction you want to take it directly...feel free
And your right, we could use some new input, especially from other countries I know there are Aussies on here, as well as a nice cross section of Europe,
Come on guys, the mice aren't ones to hang about in this dimention all day!

Mrs Kapelson is the little old lady from Boston that looked out of the window of the plane she was on to witness two people flying and performing other acts, that is of course Arthur and Fenchurch, as to where I'm going with the story, your guess is as good as mine

I think maybe there is a opportunity for Ford to meet up with that journalist friend of Arthur's, whose name escapes me<laugh, perhaps he could be one of Ford's fares if he ever gets past this initiation to become a cab driver.

in his miss spent youth I am sure MBH went to US, hence he had contacts for finding out about Wonko the Sane. It would be nice to have series of events caused by meeting Ford that sets him on his career as a journalist.

Ahh, but I already used him back at the commune, so he is already generally Journalized...but maybe after the meeting he could get into reporting really weird stuff; which is why he ends up working for a magazine with big pictures and small print?

sorry, this story is getting so long and complicated I forget whats's gone before, maybe we need to sit done and produce a summary of events so far, also chapter four is now getting a bit stuck perhaps the taxi thing can move the story on a bit.

No, it's cool I love the idea of Ford being Forrest Gump-esque, fundamentaly altering lives with just the nearest meetings
We could always re-chapter if things need moving along too; no pre-ideas this time....yet
And yah, where is that guy who was reprinting without the syntax? lost by the wayside like everyone else.
Guess our minds must be too highly trained majikthise....or else we have fun kicking a dead horse

Well Vroomfondel, I guess we need to pass the message around our friends on H2G2 and suggest they may wish to contribute to this great work for who are we to believe that although our minds are so highly developed that there actually may not be others with creative skills you may or may not be able to take this saga forward, I think we must give this matter some Deep Thought.

Not bad you gave Ford pretty good directions you look it up on a map?
Incidently, I was supposed to BE at the Waldorf (which is on 50th st. btw) on 9/11/01! only about 30 blocks from ground zero!
It got pushed back 1 day, lucky me I probably would've been ok, but I would've been stuck there for about a week

This is getting hard for me not knowing my way around New York, I'm having to research or just make it up as I go along, have no idea what the protocals involved with the yellow cabs, we are in the 1970's sometime so the WTC still stands, but out of respect have avoid direct mention, thought the Waldorf would be a pretty neat location for Ford to have his next adventure but not sure what yet, it depends on who we decide this passenger is that he is droping off and what Fang has to say next.

WOW, Dirk? that was kinda left field. Do you have a particular case in mind? or just general mayhem?
Ford's Prequel
Simetra Posted Aug 22, 2005
I felt a bit stuck and Dirk is full of suprises, have no idea where this will take us and the dog bit was getting tedious, don't know anything about New York gang culture, this Obelisk thing I see as some sort of conspiracy theory secret society maybe, did you catch the reference to the Buick 8, it comes from a Stephen King novel "From a Buick 8" very strange story, the car is a doorway into an alien dimension, scarry.
