You'll always be Gosho to us, Gosho. We like it and I'm sure you're stuck with it
When I was at school most people used to call my by the first three letters of my surname. I went through a phase of trying to get them to call me something else (I forget what) and all it did was make them more determined to call me by the name that they thought of me as.
So I gave up, embraced it, and was known as 'Sav' for the next three years of my life. And I grew to quite like being this 'Sav' person that everyone else had invented - it was a unique name, and in such a boring town as Stafford where I grew up, I got to pass for being quite a unique bloke.

at least here on hootoo you get some choice over your name - even if people shorten or change it ;-/

"and all it did was make them more determined to call me by the name that they thought of me as"
And all this is doing is making me more determined to change my name
I don't think I'm going to stick with Omni Grits though, much as I like it. I'm still looking for something with a HHGTTG reference. There's one particular word in the series which I always liked, but it doesn't exactly work as a name... but I may try it anyway. It will give me an interesting set of initials - at least to those who know me (won't mean a thing to those who don't)

When you see it you'll see it
Actually there are three I've been thinking about from the series (and I'm reading the books right now for more inspiration)

So will you be trying all three on for size?

At least two of them - one I think I've already dismissed.

Well, I don't want to change my name every day - that would too confusing for anyone whose entry I'm reviewing in PR.

Hi, I'm Tom. I started as a typographical error Posted Mar 25, 2005
I plan to keep calling you Gosho.
Not because I'm evil (though I'm certainly that), but because you can't teach an old new tricks.
Actually, part of it *is* that I'm evil, though I'm *much* too lazy for hardcore evildoing. I'd rather sit in a window with a candle inside, grinning at passersby until my seeds sprout (which may be sooner rather than later)

Mind you Gosho - soz I mean Omni - you would have to start worrying if you found yourself contradicting yourself

I think this is the name I'm going to settle on DNA came up with so many good words and good names in the HHGTTG, and this was always one of my favourites How strange that I'm the first Brantisvogan on Hootoo
Joojooflop is another one I always liked,, but you may already know by now that that one (leastways 'joojooflopsituation') has already been taken. I didn't seriously consider using that one though.
