I was woken up around midnight last night by texts and phone calls because of reports of mobile homes overturned in the storms that came through overnight. (I live in a mobile home in the affected area).

So this was less than 3 miles from my house...

It was still dark when I left for work this morning, but we hadn't lost power, and I don't even think we had any tree limbs down.

We've inherited an actual house that we plan to move into over the summer. I seriously debated driving out to it last night and staying there, but I was already in bed when the thought occurred, and basically I'm lazy. But this makes two tornadoes that have come within 5 miles of the house since we've been there (13 years).

So I spent the night mostly awake wondering how I was going to sleep through storms after we move knowing my oldest son is out there in a mobile by himself, and equally how my parents slept soundly the last 18 years that I've been in one.

Glad you're okay broe I've heard some reports on the radio this morning about that round of weather. I should have checked in earlier - I thought of you when I saw the line of storms on the radar, and St Louis in the firing line.

While I'm growing weary of the sign in errors that are getting so common around here, I had a bit of a fright the other day when I opened my user space page and rather than just finding myself logged out, my user space was nuked! Like Nighthoover's page: U183456

I bloody well have found the time to write anything by way of introduction and get around to talking to the rest of the community and write some guide entries. I've had 18 years to do so and have done!


I took a screen shot in case my space didn't return after a refresh, but fortunately it did.

Due to unseasonal weather with daytime temps in excess of 90F/32C, I'll be activating the AC this morning.

I haven't gone more than a week, I don't believe, without A/C this winter.
