Ah, that's more like it! Half an inch of rain in about half an hour, and a spectacular display of lightning. And this when the forecasters had predicted less of a chance of rain and storms than on Thursday or Friday

I went to bed last night in a hot apartment following a day with an 89F/31.7C maximum temperature. I wake up this morning in a somewhat chillier apartment, following an overnight minimum of 55/12.8 Still, at least we have a very pleasant - and below average - 74/23.3 forecast for today, thanks to the cold front that made things so brisk this morning

Sunny but with an East wind, 17C 63F but doesn't feel it even in the sun.

I think it's a lazy wind, Goes through you rather than round you.

Oh and tonight's low expected to be 5C 41F, so will need my coat going to the pub.

Today in Nodnol, the wind has dropped but still sort of from the East, So much nicer in the sun heading up to 18C / 65F this afternoon back to 6 or 7C 43F tonight.

Pleasantly cool this morning in the Coachella Valley, with only a slight breeze blowing.

Very misty this morning when I left work, and very, very humid and warm - 69F (20.5C) and 100%, it says here. Phew. Storms are forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

We might get our first 90F temperature of the year on Saturday.

It doesn't stay pleasant for long. The start of this week was quite nice; brisk but not cold in the mornings, just about perfect for lunch and on the way home. There was threats of rain, but it all went around me.

It's currently 85°F and that's about as hot as I like it. There's a light breeze so it's tolerable, despite the high humidity. Otherwise I'm sure I'd be drenched in sweat after my little one mile walk around the ponds. (No gator today, she must have moved on after again clearing out the slow and dumb fish, ducks and turtles.)

I looked at the Space Centre on GMaps. I can see three ponds surrounded by buildings in a sort of a park, with trees around them, and a square one to the north. Is it one of those?

It's that one, the squarish one to the NNE. If you look closely, you'll see a small rock "jetty" protruding from the eastern shore. That's where she was sitting when I took this pic.

Rain, and lots of it Almost a quarter of an inch between 6am and 7am, and I'm sure it'll be at least that much again by 8am. Then, looking at the radar, it looks like it's going to stop soon after, but the forecasters are saying there'll be another round of storms this afternoon.

Which suits me just fine because I have the day off and I need to go and do some food shopping this morning

I also have to bake some bread though, and the 86F temperature this afternoon, no doubt with plenty of humidity, isn't going to make that too pleasant
