*sighs dramatically*
Ah, alas and alack, another would be a most wonderful continuation to the first , yet being the impoverished student that I am, it is more often than not impossible.

No worries, we'll manage that somehow or other
Yeah, damn Socceroos... or damn Soccer Australia, for not making sure we get enough decent internationals against teams that we can't beat 31-0...

How about 'damn Australia for not being a Soccer country'?!

don't hold your breath K, S.A. have pished off all the euro clubs for a start! After that Iran game in 98' I thought they'd be a shoe-in this time...you'll just have to settle for being champions of evrything else

Yeah, but why? Because we are where we are? Perhaps we should tow Australia closer to Europe to make Arsenal happy? Really, we should make sure we play our full complement of 11 internationals a year, against whoever we can (the better the quality the better we can prepare) and make sure we get *all* of our players released for them... that's the only way we can function as a team properly. We have the talent - just look at the game against France! 1-1 draw, and sure it was only a friendly, not hugely competitive... but the French squad was strong, and they didn't leave their talent at home.
And I don't want to be champions of everything else, I want to be champions of *everything*

Well... suffice to say he's not like any Aussie I've ever met... in city, country, small town or big town... I haven't lived in the Outback, maybe some of them are like that... but he certainly doesn't represent the average Aussie, no... sorry.

i saw a comedian recently that did a fair impersonation of him, tho
so, then, who would you suggest as an example of an 'average' aussie accent?

I don't dare suggest...
But if Steveo's an Aussie, then he represents himself as an Aussie. So he represents one Aussie.
Yeah!??/ .....

he represents himself. 'nuff said.
An average Aussie accent? In any American movies the Aussie accents are overdone and nasty...a tv show like "Secret Life of Us" or "Neighbours" is probably as close as you'll get...

I have to say, one of the funniest things about the London meet was when I was trying to give the Brits Noo Yawk lessons! Clive couldn't quite get the "I'm sweetness and light" down quite right!
