Hi Walter,

Not Flinders Island, Flinders, smiley - smiley.
Although I have been to Flinders Island, Garry and I went with the Gem club a few years back (our trip overseas). We went digging these crystals in the sand. Didn't find many but it was very nice place to not find too much smiley - smiley.

The sad bit was they use to run over kangaroos and they would shoot cape baron geese, those beautiful grey ones with the intelligent heads, because they would graze on the grass??? Sometimes I don't understand people.

I notice in your plans for Europe that there is no Greece, I didn't go many other places but that was amazing, to go underground to the town they have discovered in Santarini, or to walk around the ruins in Crate, or to look at the cobble mosackes( small stones position to make a picture) in Petra. I just loved the place.

Ok well you are probably back from your light brekkie by now, see ya soon.

Hi Moondancer,

Some breakfast. Hardly had time for the first cup of coffee before teh phone summoned me to greater things. Basically just a panic day for some people, must have been the phase of the moon or something, or perhaps the biorhythms short-circuited. Anyway, before I stopped it was nearly dark and I hadn't really done anything constructive all day except be pleasant (which goes against my grain and usual operating style) and soothe frayed nerves. Still, it pays okay.

Then just now, someone rings me and says we are due in court in an hour. It's news to me, no notification received here. Check the in-tray - there it is. And you know what? I was going to play hookey this afternoon, so I came in in shorts and T-shirt, so now I have to rush home and get a suit on and whizz back to start the case for which I will have no time to research.

Must rush, but hope your morning is more organized than mine.

Walter.

Hi Moondancer,

All panics over, I've been home again and got to play about three hours worth of truant, and am back in shorts and T-shirt. Had to come into town to say farewell to someone else who is leaving the State (seems like a lot of women I know are heading over to Victoria or NSW - does that say something about me, them, or Tasmania).

Looks like a fine and hot weekend coming up. I hope you find time to put your feet up and relax somewhere cool, and enjoy a few glasses of something nice. Take very good care,

Love,

Walter.

Hi Walter,
I think breakfast meetings are a dumb idea any way, If you have to have a breakfast meeting you should have a high powered mango smoothy, how can anyone take any one else seriously with egg on their chin. Hahahahah, totally ruins the train of though, or maybe it improves it . smiley - laugh

I am glad that you got your truant, I took mine this weekend too. I went to this small town on the coast of Victoria called Flinders. They had a swimming pool which I spent a fair bit of time in and I have a delicious pink glow about me which will turn nicely brown in a few days.
The back garden looked out over the golf course where watched the grey power, power their way around from dawn to dusk. It also looked across to the ocean and if I imagined really hard to Tasmania. smiley - smiley So I gave you a big waive, I hope you saw me.

I could not imagine all those ladies are leaving Tassie because of you, unless it is because you are breaking their hearts, it must be the state. My sister will be over there on her next tour after, she finishes with Tamworth. She said she was never going back to Tasmania, every trip she has done there has ended in disaster, the last time she went her father died, but the years must have softened her smiley - smiley. I don't have bad memories of Tassie, I would come over for a holiday smiley - smiley Come to think of it I would take a holiday anywhere at the moment.

I will see you later.

Hi Walter,

Had a big night last night.
We had a meeting with the purchasers, no solicitors, and we ironed out the difficulties, signed the contracts and sending them away today.

hello if it is ok for me to chip in i would just say that marridge was seemingly easy to divorce from but it had hidden strings, the fact that the man had to return the dowry and increased intrest to women, meant that they had power as they could destroy a man if it was all tied in a crucial venture. Equally thats why you got rich widows who lived a fine life courted by men, money made the world go round, as it does today smiley - smiley

by the the only women we are talking aboput are aristos as (it always happens in pre modern history) there are few sources on lower classes.

On another note Augustus was so angry at Julia for another reason, the gossip going round that she had a compition with the guild leader of prostitutes to see who could sleep with the most.
Julias plight was harsh though, married to Agrippa 20 odd years her senior, she had 4 kids and wanted to have fun whilst it is said he wanted to sit in by the fire.... poor 25 year old Julia smiley - sadface
