I'm popping in as one of the assistant community editors here, aka <./>aces</.>. We greet newbies such as yourself and help to simplify your settling-in process. First of all, thanks for the brief introduction, really, not everyone bothers to provide anything. And you can certainly edit/expand that later. Now, to familiarize yourself with everything carefully review Feisor's list of Hints and Links at A719840. From the choice of skins onward, it's quite a comprehensive list. Further down the page you'll find links to both our weekly newspaper <./>thepost</.> and it's own links page(a bit of a list within a list). Therein you'll find items such as the Researchers' Map at A5076614, the Regional Researchers' Groups at A660313, the All-New Researchers' Birthday page at A293195, etc. Not to mention numerous venues for socializing, such as the worms Club at A745544 and The (Pythonesque)Cheese Shop at A852879 among many others.

Who reads journal entries? Who is likely to notice a journal entry I write? Do they show up in certain searches? What is the "infinite improbability drive" (aside from book meaning)? Thank you!!!!!!!

Well, journal entries(if I'm correct)can be read by pretty much anybody that chooses to look at your page. Then as you accumulate 'friends'-you'll notice 'add to friends list' in the margin of a person's page-the entries will also appear on their pages. And I believe they might show up in searches as well. I'm a little hopeless at that sort of thing, but hold on...I'll 'call in reinforcements',ok...

Ok, help is on the way(another ace). But about the Infinite Improbability Drive, that'll take you to a random Edited entry.

Any one who visits your space the turn into conversation threads and can go on and on Yikes made over 1000,000 replys my best is 24 who knows just join in...

All your friends passers by anyone with anything to say this is a community give and take as much as you want...


Do they show up in certain searches?
Yes but the best place to find them is here http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/info?cmd=conv go to my personal space and click on H2G2 Stats.

What is the "infinite improbability drive" (aside from book meaning)?
Just try it you will see an entry randomly chosen from any one of the near 10,000 we (and maybe you later) mave writen.

I can't figure out what the whole group thing is or how to be part of a group, I can't find a link to the miscellaneous chat thing or anything at all... does this site have an index? How do I find my way around? I can't find the bookmarks I made! Please help! Thank you!

Check Emmily's h2g2 in a nutshell, about 1/4 of the way down Feisor's list(that should help, if not <./>dontpanic</.> it's likely in the list...worst case scenario-oh now That sounded grim, didn't it-come back here & I'll help or call in someone who can, ok. until then...hang in there!
