I've driven a bit on snow without chains or snow tires because we simply don't have those, here. The last time was not really snow. It was rain with crystals. The rain was falling lightly. Some flakes would fall too. All of it was freezing to the windshield as it landed. Can't imagine living where that is the usual.

Hmm, back to the Acai berries. I found a tasty & inexpensive bar with an Acai cream filling. It doesn't really specify(in the ingr.), but I would imagine the filling consists of cane sugar, coconut oil, skim milk powder & vanilla extract-in addition to the Acai berries.

And although I wasn't aware they were from the same manufacturer, I've also had a couple Hemphogs.

I've tried that as well. It's a nice balance of ginger & chili pepper. Cocoa Camino(who Equal Exchange mention somewhat of an association with)did a bar with chili & ginger some time ago, but I thought the ginger overpowered the chili - this is much better.

You could move here. We're expecting a high of 80F tomorrow. The bad news is rain and storms are expected with it.

Well after that brief cold snap, daytime temps have been on the + side. True Very low +, like 3 & 4 but quite a change ...aah the relative roller coaster that winter has become! Many morre climbs & drops in store I'm sure....*sigh*even a loop or two.

It's been sunny and mild today. I suspect we'll get really slammed when winter fully arrives.
I'm working on a culinary experiment here. Have you heard of 'beer can chicken'? I'm attempting a 'winter lager' roasted turkey breast.

Ah yes, heard of that years ago. Quite good too. Have actually done some more-or-less improvised cooking with s & myself. Most(not all that many of them, or anything too ambitious) mentioned on this thread.

Haven't tried the turkey breast yet. However, the rice dressing made with the drippings was quite good. It was a Samuel Adams Winter Lager that I poured into the roaster before placing the lid on and putting the whole thing in the oven on 375F until done.
Took the turkey breast out when it was done. To the roaster contents (drippings) I added white basmati rice, more of the turkey spices (paprika, cayenne, oregano, garlic granules, black pepper) Sea salt, & turkey broth that I had on the stove from cooking down the neck and wing tips of the turkey. Added chopped onion, celery, fresh jalapenos, & green onions.
Placed the roaster back in the oven and baked until the rice was almost done. Turned off the oven and let it finish on its own.

Have seen a few Samuel Adams products here, but having watched a number of beer geek http://www.beergeeknation.com videos, am quite used to 'only dreaming' about 98% of the U.S. beers. Although we do get a few...Lagunitas, Rogue, (HUB))Hopworks Urban Brewery , Ommegang(from upstate N.Y. recently)& Schmaltz being a few.

I've tried different Samuel Adams beers: Coastal wheat, Winter ale, Oktoberfest, Cherry Wheat, Blackberry witbeer, Boston Lager (my favorite so far) and Summer Ale.
There is a Mississippi brewery whose products are starting to show up more in Baton Rouge. The Londoner, a pub (no, really a pub) in Baton Rouge nearish to where I work carries the Lazy Magnolia products on tap and at least one of the grocery stores I shop, has at least one selection at a time of their stuff.

*cups hands around mouth*Bonjour! Sava Bien? (gee, that's 'rusty'!)
It now looks more like winters past out there. Although actually more like late Dec. or early Jan. than late Feb., but then again really not that much difference I suppose.*shrugs*Saturday we had roughly 15 centimeters of snow(and we've only had a total of 11m since winter officially began Dec. 22nd). And as I said 'roughly' because we probably got another 15 or so overnight.
