Seen my eyebrow? Eek!
Yes I can raise them independantly, and do a really cool (I think) wave-motion-thing with them to make people seasick.
My hair is too blonde to be James Bond... and I'm not handsome enough... but I'd like to play one of those German head-henchman types who obediently fight James Bond for the main baddy and die in some horrible way. I can do a suitably scary stare and things like that, but I might have to work out a bit first.
*takes a cookie* Ooh thanks. Thank Ben, they're very nice...
Yes, you could see if the hospice does a Christmas do for their patients... they might appreciate help for that.

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 28, 2000
I've seen your whole head actually but your eyebrow was posing so I thought it was only polite to comment on it... You so could be James Bond as Sean Connery's got grey hair...
*goes quiet before the argument is discovered to have flaws*
Do you have a tux?
*looks suitably impressed*
You can raise both of them? I can only raise my right, the left refuses to play nicely so I just look as if I'm squinting
I don't know which Ben to thank, I know many but the one who alledges to sell them has never been there but I think the head office is in London so maybe I could go and harrass him for a recipe as they're the best cookies anywhere...
I might look into that actually, I'm ringing them up tomorrow to see if there's anything I can do to help now so I might ask.

I don't have a tux but I have been known to wear one on occasion...
And I'm a gadget freak, I could quite happily be Q.
I'm going to eat now, I've just realised I haven't had a hot meal for a couple of days. So, nice chatting to you (over several different forums for some reason ), see you around...

The Fish Posted Nov 28, 2000
You can't possibly claim that you're MORE of a Gadget freak than me! You don't even have a pda
Ooo... Jumping out of planes sounds fun! I've never done that before... and always wanted to...

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 28, 2000
Well there you go, I'll just call you James from now on
Ummm Q has grey hair so you couldn't do that either... I have many gadgets too although most of them relate to camping/climbing and my car so wouldn't be relevant, apart from my lightsaber but I don't think that counts somehow...I can't quite see Pierce Brosnan charging at the eveil Rupert Murdoch bloke making "schuoooom schuooooom" noises...
Aaah hot meals are so overrated...
*growls at the computer as the netstat thingy goes red again*
but I suppose eatings essential after while,
*waves*
Bye!
*mutters under her breath "Mr Bond"*

Sorry Fish I didn't see you there...
I would like to clarify that I'd have a parachute whilst jumping out of the plane...

It's always great to be sponsored for something you want to do anyway. I missed it, but the Leeds climbing wall had a sponsored climb recently - the idea being to complete the height of Everest in a day.

Peregrin Posted Nov 29, 2000
Cool
Did they spray the climbers with snow cannons for an authentic feel?
I have got a PDA, Fish . It's a Psion 3A, and it's great fun, except that it's very nearly dead.
I would be a total and utter gadget freak if I could afford it. Even in my penniless state, I've got a new scanner today. Hurrah! Except that my computer keeps dying, and I still can't figure out what's wrong with it.
I've always wanted to do a sponsored parachute jump... or any kind of parachute jump for that matter.

MaW Posted Nov 29, 2000
I don't like doing sponsored stuff, because I can never find people to sponsor me.
Still, if you want to do something stupid it's a good idea to get yourself sponsored to do it - lots of people will think you're weird if you just go skydiving for the hell of it, but if you do a sponsored skydive people will think you're wonderful.

Bagpuss Posted Nov 29, 2000
As far as I know they didn't spray the climbers, but then if you climb Everest you're likely to do most of it at a slant, rather than vertically (and anyone on the overhangs must have thought the mountain was a very funny shape).
That's a good point MaW, perhaps I should try sponsored bridge playing or sponsored Dr. Who video watching.

Peregrin Posted Nov 29, 2000
I'll do a sponsored dressing gown wearing. I bet I can beat two months...
For MaW/Peregrin/Bagpuss
MaW Posted Nov 29, 2000
No you can't. You have to go take a shower occasionally you know... even you would stink after two months in the same dressing gown.
For MaW/Peregrin/Bagpuss
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 29, 2000
*looks annoyed*
Shhhh...James Bond doesn't wear dressing gowns!
*thinks*
Besides you couldn't wear one for two months as it's winter and you'd need a fleece as well...
What do you mean weird? Jumping out of planes isn't weird...it's perfectly normal see! Out of the five of us at least three of us want to parachute thus majority defines normality and it leaves you looking strange for not leaping from great heights...
*wonders how convincing that was*
Hey we could arrange a H2G2 parachute jump, that'd provide interesting discussion
*goes off to book everyone into a skydiving session*

Yay! I got paid 300 quid on Friday, by my old company.... Aparently I'd still been working for them for the last month.... just hadn't realised My P45 should be coming through sometime soon! Yippee
So... all that means, I have money... infact lots of money... so I could just go sky diving for the fun of it.... But I reckon I could get LOADS of sponcership if we did it...
I reckon sometime near easter or early summer would be good... how much does it usually cost? And we'd need training...
I'd like to do base jumping as well... Especially if I could do it off of a bike
Peregrin, are you such a gadgety person, that you have Gadgets for your Gadgets
Has anyone been to [url removed by moderator]it's a gadget paridise

Peregrin Posted Nov 29, 2000
Er... don't they want it back again then?
I'm sure James Bond has worn a dressing gown, I've got a memory of Sean Connery in a white dressing gown from one of the films, I can't remember which.
Mine is yellow and blue though.
The gadget I really want is a Walter PPK (or whatever it's called) mock pistol, a la James Bond. They've reviewed it in SFX or something, it looks really funky, it has a silencer and all.
I've got a minature T-shirt to keep my mouse warm, if that counts as a gadget for a gadget
Mmm... h2g2 parachute jump... could be good ...
For MaW/Peregrin/Bagpuss
The Fish Posted Nov 29, 2000
Yeah! He often wonders round in a dressing gown, just after he's woken up next to some woman...
The whole James Bond role would really suit you Peregrin
Oh them... you can get them from this Model shop in Reading... I'm sure you could probably get one online as well...
Where! I've never seen this T-Shirt!..... But yeah, that counts
Are you interested then Ian?

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 29, 2000
Maybe but not a big fleecey toweling thingy...or a checked woolly job, that's not James Bond like at all...unless we're talking Timothy Dalton, he'd probably wear one of those
*grins*
See that may have been sarcasm but he thinks you should train your eyebrow and become the next Bond too, Brosnan can't do it forever you know!
How about a Platypus with platypus carrier and fun little shower attachment type thing? Does that count...no I 'spose not, what about all my climbing trash I have much amounts of that, and it's all shiny and pretty...well except for my rope and shoes which are bright green and pink and purple but it's a start
I'm getting a little mouse in the shape of a VW beetle it's very cool it's all silvery and fun.
*thinks*
Has something I've said been taken seriously then?
*looks concerned*
That could start a worrying trend, you should be careful...

My only really gadgety gadget is one of those Microsoft mice with an IntelliEye, so no ball and glowing redness. It's not an Explorer one, I don't like those, it looks fairly normal - but I go mad using mice with balls these days. It's so cool!
I want some glowing juggling balls (you can get them - you plug them into a charger and then they glow) but they cost about £50 each so I don't think I'll get any just yet...

Peregrin Posted Nov 30, 2000
*lifts an eyebrow impassively*
Do you expect me to talk?
Oooh I have bright green and purple climbing shoes! But unfortunately I haven't got much shiny climbing equipment, I tend to borrow it off my brother, who has money.
Why are mice and joysticks always designed aerodynamically, I wonder?

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 30, 2000
*smiles happily*
See there you go, I almost believed you were Connery himself, told you you could be Bond
Maybe we have the same climbing feet then...I used to have turquoise one's but they got too small so now I have my Dad's old ones... and don't be fooled into thinking I own all this stuff, I have a belt and helmet which is mine and half a rope, the rest is my Dads
So they can fly obviously! What do you think they do all day when you're not using them? That's why they're called mice...they act as little charter planes for mouses and stuff
