You see that's the reason why Linux wont really take off for a while, people view it as being y. Shame really because it will actually run a win XP emulator faster than XP actually runs itself!

You can get it online fairly easily. Though you would either need to set up a dual boot on the PC you currently use or get an old PC to play with it on.

The only reason to buy it would be to get the support (Linux is freeware). Do a search for Red Hat if this is what you want. I would be inclined to say save your money and have a quick look around the internet or post something in ask h2g2!

I think I'm gonna hang off...at least until I can look into it more, I mean I can deal with computers fairly well but I'm not great at instructions.

I only have it on my v old comp (1.33MHz 64MbRAM recently upgraded to a 2Gb HD!!!) which is a shame because I'm sure I don't get the best from it!

I cheated though I got my housemate to set it up for me

Yeah, I'm on holiday at the moment, term time's still a bit of a bother to get on because I can't always rely on my lift and buses mean I'm home about 3 hours later than if I get a lift, but it's good to get away, and I'm lurking more than anything else these days.
