I've found out that my (old) Yahoo account (that I never use any more, so anything you may receive from that accouint should be deleted immediately) has been hacked and sent out SPAM to all contacts

I am ultra-careful about viruses and stuff and regularly run virus checker & clean up procedures. I have now changed my Yahoo password, but when I attempted to delete the contacts in case it ever happens again, it crashed whilst deleting the first so I'll have to keep at that problem.

There's been some things going on with Yahoo of late. I've been told of contact lists disappearing then re-appearing as well as a sudden, massive surge in spam.
I guess the best advice is make sure your anti-virus, spyware and stuff is up to date and turned on at all times.

This all seems to have happened on the yahoo server, totally independently of GB's pc.

I'm rather disappointed. Nothing about enhancing anything in the mail I got.

I got a link to a link to an ad page.

My virus checker is on at all times, I check once a week for updates and run it every day. I will delte the contacts on yahoo but doing them one at a time will take a while

It's happened to various accounts recently, so don't worry, GB. I knew you didn't use it anyway (after I realised it was from the yahoo account).
I half expect one of my accounts to be hacked each day.

I've been getting infos about n2g2 from Yahoo lately. I'd forgotten I'd subscribed to that and didn't have anything for years (since Rupert - 2002 was it?)

Spam has been coming in via Yahoo for ages, too, but none from you, GB. Perhaps I wasn't on your contacts list.

Well, maybe it would have been about Viagra if I had clicked the link, but I was pretty sure it wasn't really a mail from GB so did not click!

Read yesterday that Viagra is bad for your ears. WHAT???

Perhaps people were poking the tablets into them.
