Sounds like it should be described as a *condition* rather than as a *disease*. Still, glad to know it's something that can be managed by diet, rather than by surgery or medications.
Relax this weekend now GB, and treat yourself to a lovely big bowl of bran

I thought that too, but

oh well. What's in a name? I'll have to rework my diet, from the rework I made two years ago.No bananas? No rice?
Tell you what, I'll have the bran if you'll have the beetroot

Don't worry lilI can think of some names I would like to tattoo on them then insert them where the sun don't shine. Your name isn't on the list

*giggles*
We once did something similar in a women's ward.. we used a pin and put the name of a doctor into the banana.. and using toothpicks, we stuck plumbs onto the banana.. Placing it strategically on the woman.
The young doctor was the first at her bedside the next morning.. and his face was a picture!!!..

I love bananas but I'm told that they have a high potassium content and bad news for those of us with heart disease/problems. Haven't had one since I stopped the hiking/walking/climbing over 8 years ago now.
As you already know GB,glad to hear it's not seriously bad news though bad enough. You take it easy for a day or so now, I know what it's like when waiting on results, so stressfull, at least now you can relax a bit and unwind.

Yes, I was told to eat bananas when my blood potassium level was a bit low. Apparently this has since changed as we don't extract potassium from bananas that well. Advice now (I think) is to eat apricots and cantaloupe melons.

Phew!!!!!!
Well, there are worse fates in life than eating bran! And i adore beetroot, so if there's some going spare, chuck it my way (once i am able to eat properly again!)
Now, try & relax a little, you will possibly have a reaction to the relief of getting a diagnosis that isn't as bad as you feared.

I can actually feel a food fight coming on, especially that h5ringer up there ^^^ mentioning apricots and melon (which I love) are high in potassium (which I am supposed to avoid)
I can't believe I've got to go shopping for bran and I was gonna slice some banana on top to make it palatable
...although if anyone told me I'd have to give up tomatoes I would seriously and you'd have to clear the thread.

As I have, today, repotted over 26 tomato plants, I would be seriously contemplating killing all of the medical profession if I couldn't eat them and make my tommy sauce for the winter
BTW, some beetroot my way please, Annie

Allbran tastes lousy.
Try some of these fruit and bran thingies till you find one that you dislike least.
Then mix more fruit so it's nice and contemplate all your friends. Not too difficult.
(don't eat that either;¬)

bran is just 'narb' spelled backwards and while that comment is seemingly pointless, at least it's not tasteless - unlike bran.
Maybe you could add chocolate to the bran. That would have to help the flavor. Chocolate even helps the flavor of cardboard - not that I would actually know this. ...well, as it happens I do know this, but it's a long story and quite beside the point.
Come to think of it, chocolate isn't one of those things you have to avoid is it? ...nevermind.
