It got really hot here today. We were selling ice cream like mad. Why, around two in the afternoon I do believe we were all the way up to 21°! Back to 10° tonight, though.

It's 30C here. I never thought I'd miss the winter...
Btw, last winter with all that snow and whatnot was very good for mosquitos and horseflies and all other biting insects. They don't really mind +30C either, as long as there's water.
Bbq, I could just place the meat on my windowsill.

All year round, I take it.
Just to make things a bit more exciting, the forest fire season has started. Luckily we don't get such disasters like they do in Oz.
Oh and by now more people have drowned than the total of last year.

Hapi - Hippo #5 Posted Jul 22, 2010
drowned? surely there's not much more water than during the rest of the year?
mm.. drowning, forest fires .. not good

Hati Posted Jul 22, 2010
It doesn't really take that much water to drown.

the promised rain was cancelled. apparently most of the meteorologists are on vacation so they decided to leave the weather like it's been for weeks
it-gurus tried to upgrade my 'puter and fix my connection, but i am still cut off now and then
but le tour was great today

Germany's favourite weatherman is in prison on charges of rape at the moment, which is why we thought the weather was on hold.

It was snowing in Lapland today. And Moscow beat the heat record of 125 years.

Snow would be nice. Lapland, you say?
*wonders if lap dancing originated in Lapland*

Unfortunately they also reported it melting away in minutes.
Air conditioner would be nice. I camped for half an hour in the local shopping centre. That was cool. Literally.

lapdance melting away in seconds? from lapland?
I wonder if there's anything special to a lappish lapdance ..

the theory is that people in the high north originally used 'the buddy system' to keep each others from freezing to death: they shared sleeping bags
and then it just evolved from there
