How do you share an ocean?
Is this coast mine and you are on the other side?
Is the rain an ocean too?
Does the rain have a coast?
Are tears ocean or rain?
They taste like ocean.
How do I share it?

I feel that way about the stars and the night sky. Like I'm sharing it with whomever is looking up and gazing in wonder at the same time as me. The spiritual connection is there, it also ties us to our ancestors, who did the same thing.

All alone, yet together. Now the question is, which feeling is stronger.

It reminds me of a book my kids used to love - most of you will probably know it.

It's about two monsters who lived on opposite sides of a mountain and were always fighting because one said that day was coming and the other said that night was going or something. They argued so much and threw rocks at each other, which they pulled off the mountain, till one day there was no mountain left and they then saw that the other had been right all along - it was just another way of looking at it. The kids loved the silly names the monsters shouted at each other, I don't know if they got the point of the story, though. I'm sure they do now.

Of course the medium wasn't as succinct or poetical or expressive as Hati's, but I think the point was similar.....

hm, this reminds me of a sci-fi film about two opponents crashlanding on the same planet. they were devoted to destroy each other, but eventually find that they are actually very much the same

once they start communicating the earthling quotes from the bible

and the responds: "of course. the truth will always be the truth"

magical moment

I have a children's book called Daaaaad!

There is a green monster boy and a good little white boy.

And in this story, the green little monster boy is the scared one...

Hati: I'll share with you - ocean, rain, tears.

But the question is a good one: All alone, yet together. Which is the stronger?

Or which one hurts?

Autumn makes my thoughts heavy and poisonous. Last night I woke up wondering, if that could make my blood thick and green and smelly. Or maybe my tears become acid.

This is the time of year where trees are supposed to turn red and yellow. However, the leaves just die and fall down brown. Or maybe I can't see the colours.

Maybe I am just not me? Maybe I was swapped by goblins or gypsies when I was a baby?

No, you can't have been, or you wouldn't have been able to write such poignant poetry.

All alone yet together. I agree that it depends on our circumstances. It can be one thing one day and the other the next. But isn't the battle won when we recognize and accept that we are ultimately alone in a sea of togetherness, reagardless of the circumstance? I think it changes our perspective somewhat. No matter how lonely we feel or how isolated we are geographically, we are part of this marvelous universe and somehow connected to everything that is or was or will be. And no watter how many people are around us at any given moment, we are secure within ourselves, responsible for ourselves and our own happiness or misery. Our life's journey is solitary. No one else can make it for us.

Lovely opening post, Hati. smiley - hug
