My autumn
Hati Started conversation Oct 4, 2006
The warm and sunny days are over. It's cold and wet, rains every now and then. Early mornings and late evenings are wrapped in the fog. Golden gleam of streetlights reflect back from fallen leaves, pavement, puddles. Everything smells like autumn, decay and death. Few light hours of daytime paint everything in bright colours of autumn which are shy and slow to appear in the long lasting green this year. Every day it feels the same - any time now the storms will start, all the leaves will be ripped off the trees, last birds will escape and eventually everything will freeze. But not yet. Soon, in few days, weeks.

Nice photos
I love the autumn!
We had a great thunder storm last night and today the weather had changed, much cooler.
Unfortunatly we hardly ever get the autumn colours here in Gothenburg.

Usually it's more colourful here. Indian summer is my favourite time of the year.
Titania posted a photo of Stockholm flooded, it looked quite impressive. Here the rain has been slow and lazy, just dripping down once in a while. The temperature is almost the same day and night, so the days are cold and nights warm.

It is so dry in my part of the world that we will take any rain we can get. Our normal fall color is being affected by the drought, also.
Usually autumn is my favorite time of year. I hope our weather becomes more autumnlike so I can enjoy it.

..We don't have Autumns like that down here. Everything stays much the same, 'cept the weather is cooler. Tis a pity, as I miss the smell and feel of autumn and winter when I was a child back in the UK,

Hmm...
It's different, here. The weather is slowly cooling, and leaves are falling (no amazing colours like in other places, though) and so on, but because summer is so hot and dry, winter is actually the season when everything comes back to life.
Soon it will start raining, and all the hillsides will change from yellow to green.
It's a different kind of beautiful.

When I lived in Tasmania....place called Lebrina.. place with a lot of European type Flora. Autumns there were close to "real" with leaves changing colour, falling off trees.
Pity about Jane, tho. Never mind, Life goes on, just as the Seasons change,

Hati,
Beautiful photos. Makes me wonder why I've not taken any (oh wait... our camera's being borrowed ...).

What can I say... It's +10C here right now. Today four years ago there was snow and it stayed until mid-april that winter. So this year it's really warm.

Nice Here, the yellows and reds are just sneaking in... But it certainly has turned more autumnish in the weather.

Sometimes it looks that the nature can easily be fooled. I saw dandelions shivering in the rain, having that surprised look as if they were thinking it's spring already. Geese are flying back and forth, can't decide whether to stay for a bit longer or to leave now.
Very sleepy ladybugs can be seen and one odd brier grew flowers next to berries.
One can see his soul with naked eye now, they say.

I was talking to my Big Sis,Gloria, last night on the phone (she lives in Oz also). Since Jose, her husband died recently, she has this massive yearning to go back home (England, North East) for a holiday.
Gloria wants me to come with her, which is by me...But we won't come their in your Winter...too bloody
for us now...

This in my favourite time as well. If I am not cold and wet, that is. But right now it's sunny. The sun crawls low and hides here and there but it makes the colours shine on the low dark sky far in the east.
