A sad story, dbgibulli!
Hey, was this the third line of your poem, or were you just talking here? -
"And I failed....couldn't find ...nothing , never mind..."

Beach days are definitley something we speak of in past tense. The air is wet, with occasional heavy showers...and yes it is grey. It will stay like this until March or April, with one or two days of bleak winter sun just to help us keep waiting...
But autumn and winter has it´s charm I think. The weather is less demanding. It is okay to stay in your sofa all day and read a book.
I am wishing for a winter with loads of snow!

Some snow is okay. -10C is okay too. Loads of snow I wouldn't like and -30C I hate.
But November is still ahead and even though I usually say that November is actually a state of mind, the one happening in nature is not anything I am fond of either.

November is a state of mind! I agree!
No need for -30, especially not here in Gothenburg by the sea... that would be horrible.
But let the snow come to make the world white, beautiful, quiet and new...
Snow tastes like... snow. Frozen water. You should never eat yellow snow, though!

Steve51 Posted Oct 7, 2006
Hello Izzy, how does snow get yellow? I thought it was white!
-30, what is that?
, Now I get it about yellow snow...
My autumn
Izzybelle Posted Oct 7, 2006
Well if you live close to the sea -30 is extremely cold, if you are inland it is a different kind of cold. Still too cold, though for anything but swift expeditions...
And yellow snow is something we twll kids not to eat, you know maybe a dog walked by...

By the way, and while I think of it. What a coincidence! My best mate, Gerry Naujok, we went through High School together, then College, then worked together for many years in the local steel industry.
He met and married Trina, a Swedish girl...
Are all Northern Girls so pretty???
My autumn
Izzybelle Posted Oct 7, 2006
The world is full of cliches about swedish girls isn´t it? As a young woman, travelling in Europe, meeting new people I invented another origine to stay out of very tiring conversations and to stay safe.
But yes of course we are all stunning beauties up here most be the snow...

No Lass, I didn't intend any words by my posting...But it's true about Northern girls. My big Sis, Gloria, is a Northern Girl, and my daughter Jodi has all of her features....

"Naa, that was just talking."
Well, I think it would make a very effective last line. Sorry things didn't turn out well for you both, though.

.. must be autumn.. no use trying to start up a discussion like that in Autumn
Start off with
"Golden gleam of streetlights reflect back from fallen leaves, pavement, puddles. Everything smells like autumn, decay and death."
and end with
"Are all Northern Girls so pretty???" .. "I didn't intend any words"
recipe for disaster.. wrong move Steve, better next time

I'm afraid I must replace with apples...
But anyway. I guess I must heat the house tonight. And I think I must order my firewood from somewhere else.
