Hati

As some of might already know I am taking Danish lessons. I have been asking questions about danish here and there. Sometimes it makes me to worry a bit about some other people who don't care much about Danish grammar and such. So I moved my Danish questions over here in hope that those of my friends who might help me with the answers which are not 42 could post them here. smiley - smiley
So, here comes the first question:
Should I say Hun körer pa sin nye cykel or hendes nye cykel?

Erm, I guess I should also ask someone to post those funny Danish letters here, too. smiley - erm

Hi Hati smiley - smiley

This is going to be fun. smiley - rainbow

Ottox is quite right about the bit about Jutlandish people - the ones who live right around me. They are consequent in being grammatically wrong smiley - laugh

When they mean:

Han tog sin jakke på (He put on his (own) jacket)

They say:

Han tog hans jakke på (He put on his (someone else's) jacket).

If it hadn't been a Dane saying that, my response would have been like a ton of bricks... smiley - laugh

There's an old grammatical joke-sentence that goes "Han tog hans hat og gik hans vej" (he took his/the other's hat and went away - to go away is rightly "gå sin vej" - and as you cannot walk somebody else's way, it becomes rather smiley - silly)

Hi beveryoddy smiley - smiley

My dad's version used to be: "Han tog hans hat, kyssede hans kone og gik hans vej" (He took his (=someone else's) hat, kissed his (do.) wife and walked his (do.) way

For me, a native swedish speaker, it is fairly easy to understand written danish, harder to understand spoken danish. But I guess that with some practice it shouln´t be too difficult for a swedish speaker to learn danish or vice versa. The languages are closely related.

Jeg var til koncert i går med to danske guitarister. Da de spillede en 'roe-blues' med titlen 'Blå Nykøbing', kom jeg til at tænke på jer i Hati's danske tråd. smiley - smiley
