I'm terribly upset about the weather. I do not know how it with you, but I really am trying to enjoy this summer. Nevertheless it is impossible. Rain, wind, a little bit of sun followed by more rain.
I read, I paint, I write, I listen to music and I'm bored. I want to be out, walking in the fields, sleeping in my tent, baking my back in the hot sunrays on a deserted beach, and at night I want to gaze up in a clear dark sky and feel the earth rotate under my body and watch the stars move on their celestial journey through this tiny spot in the big, big, inmeasurable universe, so big it is far beyond the reach of our knowledge.
Is this to much to ask?
End of this week it will be a full moon and it is suspected that the weather will change. What if it will be a change for the worst?
No thank you, I'm not a smiley-fan.
Well, anyway here's my message to you. The weather is always a good introduction for starting a conversation.
"hello, how are you? Isn't it a lovely day today?"
"No, it isn't."
Thank you for your attention.
My best regards to you.
Klaas V.

Weather is the best think to put all the blame on if anything goes wrong. Noone is responsible for the weather. Weather is never good enough.
But yes, a bit more sunshine would make a day better. And me too, I hope.

Yes, I try to be happy. Thank you for the advise. No, it is not the weather's fault when thing go wrong, unless you insist on enjoying the weather and the weather doesn't cooperate. Usually we have to blame ourselves when things go wrong, or our compatriot-in-arms, our fellow human beings.
I never heard of Noone. Who is he or she?
Anyway, you do not sound very optimistic. Not about the weather nor about yourself. Are you allright, or shouldn't I ask because
a) it is none of my business;
b) this is not the right place to discuss it;
c) you're absolutely fine and do not know what I'm blabbering about;
d) ........?

I neglected my dog this evening, browsing H2G2. I have to take her now for a walk, through wet and wind swept streets. Tomorrow, perhaps tomorrow it will be better.

I am relatively fine. As depressed and confused as usual but really nothing to mention. I mean, nothing has happened or anything.
Blaming myself or anybody else in case anything goes wrong isn't too healthy. I can't change the weather so I can't feel guilty about it. And so on. Or something like this.

No, not really.
*adjusts her whiskers*
Or maybe I am. At least it's not raining here atm. So in general I could be even a cat.

Woef! Am I barking up the wrong tree? Never mind, "I can gather all the news I need on the weather report. Whoo hooo ho, I've got nothing today but smile, smile, smile ... and here I am ....." ?
Lucky you, here it hasn't stopped raining cats and dogs, yet. And what goes around comes around, but not quite as one expected.

Where is this "here" if I may ask?

Weather

Post 9

Krabatt

"Here"? Does it matter? It really isn't the south of Europe or a lovely, sunny and peaceful place somewhere under the equator (if such a place exists). 'Here', is nowhere land, a tiny little country that wouldn't deserve a name hadn't it been for the ingenuity of some riff-raff who some odd two thousend years ago were expelled from their original tribe and established some dikes and made a swamp of 200 square kilometres into concrete jungle.
I can guess that you can guess where 'here'is. If not let me know, and I will spell it out for you.
I, my dear, consider myself as a world citizen. Not that I am, but I like to think of myself that way and I would appreciate if you would do the same. We can go for a stroll through Central Park, if you like.
By the way, isn't past your bedtime?

Oh well, no, it's not important at all. As about the bedtime, it's 2.45 am here, so I guess it's quite about a bedtime. I don't like to wake up early, so I usually stay up late. Or something like this. But now I'll log off. See you around. Breakfast coffee will be served in the summerhouse at A797420, most likely on the veranda. Feel free to drop by.

Thank you for the invitation. I'm not an earlier riser myself at the moment. I will keep it mind.
I'm tempted to put a smiley here.
Ciao.

Hati, you're back on line. Great.
Well, the latest news on the weather report is rather silly. After a good day, 25 degrees and very sunny, after a good walk along the waterfront suddenly uncle Donar, or Thor, decided to pay us a visit and decided to stay for dinner.
We put up with him, gave him a menu rich in proteins: potatoes, pasta and eggs.
What the bastard did was raging over the country, rolling clouds, hailstorms, rain, winds over 100 km a hour, even the national airport had to close down for a couple of hours! My, my. Uncle Thor threw his hamer this time. It was fun, though.
I do not know where you are, England, or perhaps somewhere in the east regarding the difference in time, but he's a good customer to put up with. A change in the 'ennui'. May he come along your way, say hello to him.
Meanwhile, my best regards,

We have had really nice summer for couple days. I hope it goes on this way. Though I have to admit that I love thunder and also I am quite afraid of it. Mixed feelings or something. Well, I guess we have a lot of thunderstorms coming our way this summer.

Weather

Post 15

Krabatt

Yes, well, I'm quite fond of thunderstorms. Though it has been dry for a couple of days, more rain is forecasted. Few years ago on a dull, rainy afternoon at an office I started to collect the many and various words in my native-language for 'rain'. At 17.00 hours, time to go home, I and my collegues collected some 30 different names for different types of rain. It is not so much as the eskimo's have for snow but it makes a fair number.
Any way this weekend it will be dry, sunny and hot. Time to work on my tan.

We are expecting hot and sunny weather with showers. I'll try to go to the seaside with my kids and friends. Maybe we could even bathe or something... smiley - smiley

Sounds great. So I gather we have Noone to thank for this lucky spell.
Have fun. Don't forget to take hats. A sunstroke isn't fun.

Unfortunately I know that sunstroke issue too well.
The latest forecast says it'll be quite cloudy but hot. But we'll have fun anyway, smiley - ta. smiley - smiley

Finalmente, it seems summer is here to stay. It is warm, dry and the weather forecast promises an escalating degree in warmth.
Pity that my holidays ended last friday, smiley - wah yes, I'm back in the office with the airconditioning on and with windows that cannot be opened. What can I say?
Did you have a good weekend, no sunstroke to speak of?

smiley - ta The weekend was fine. Today it was raining cats and dogs though. Typical Nordic summer, I'd say.
