Who, me?
Hi,
i'm researcher 119100, or Peter Ayres as i'm known to more people. I was born in 1981 in London (Guy's Hospital) and was brought up in Solihull (which i hate :-(), just south of Birmingham. Currently i am studying a degree in Chinese at Durham Unniversity (which i love :-)).
To make it easy for you to understand me, here's a list of goods and bads according to me!
Things i like:
1) Travel: going abroad and getting to know a foreign place.
2) Good ale: no horrible processed lagers here please! Black Sheep is a particularly good pint.
3) The Internet & Technology: Brilliant invention which i have been using for some years now and enjoy watching it come on in leaps and bounds.
4) Culture: as in history and what shapes a country/place to be like it is today.
5) University: Brilliant experience.
6) China and the Chinese tongue (Putonghua): As you may have guessed from my degree i have started to undertake...
7) Good Food: a partner of good ale!
8) Books: Peake, Pratchett, Orwell, Banks, Philip K. Dick and the rest of them. Although i don't have much time for reading these days.
9) Photography: I take, develop and print my own black and white prints, and have taken GCSE and A levels in the subject.
10) Err...
11) There must be more. I'll let you know when i think of them!
Things that are ++ungood
1) Aeroplane meals: Oh come on, nobody likes these do they? If you do , let me know...
2) Queues: Hopefully they will soon be a thing of the past.
3) Pop-up advert windows that you get while surfing: Does anyone actually read these or do you go into automatic kill-these-little-buggers-now mode?
4) Solihull: Dull and grey,Dull and grey,Dull and grey,Dull and grey. Need i say more. I think i have spent to long here and am unfairly biased towards it. Plus there's nothing to do! Thank god it's blessed with a good railway system (for leaving on).
5) Evangelism: No please, i can't take it any more! Sob!
6) Charging for use of the internet: Free access for the people! (Would get my vote any day!)
7) Nagging: enough said.
Well that's me as of 23rd april 2000. Future updates will be frequent i fear...
So long, and thanks for all the fish! ><>
Pete
