Happy Birthday
Shirps Posted Mar 11, 2005
Ha! Managed to walk off the eclair?
Had lunch out after hospital trip - chilli con carne with sour cream, rice, tachos & sauce, + a side order of mushrooms with a large glass of white wine - feeling like now
Specialist is going to operate on: LH thumb & ring finger for starters & will also cortizone & manipulate RH shoulder while I'm under. No guarantee of course, but worth a try Once that is done & dusted I go back to see the rheumatologist to sort out next step.
On step forward ...
Have a really good weekend - I'll be on & off here as usual
Hope the boys are having a good time & raising lots of cash - give them my best thoughts
Happy Birthday
U1250369 Posted Mar 11, 2005

U1250369 Posted Mar 11, 2005
Evening !
Just having a shandy I am so thirsty.
Oh, you've had a mixed day for your birthday.
Still, a lovely lunch. And now and telly
Got any nibbles
I'm having salted peanuts. So fattening, so unhealthy, so lush
Anything planned for the week-end ?
Good Morning
Shirps Posted Mar 12, 2005
Just the usual washing & drying
As I have a hand op pending I am going to begin to catch up & prepare all my paperwork (private & art club stuff). We have an exhibition in the summer, so I need to get all the advertising sorted and next years calendar sorted, etc Therefore, I guess it's ... paperwork time
Not surprised you're thirsty: salted peanuts
It's a beautiful day here - part of me wants to go outside & play with the weeds - flubbalub
My husband's playing in the kitchen - still - wall painting & tidying, so hopefully we can get the vinyl laid next week. It's a bit difficult working in the lounge as I have one tiny "hole" where the computer is situated & last night my laser printer wouldn't print, so somehow I am going to have to move furniture to get at it & "sort it"
Life goes on ...
Here's a "nice" cup of + little slice of fruit - just to keep your energy levels up
Good Morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 12, 2005
Afternoon
I'm just taking a breather from gardening. It's a lovely day.
Lovely cuppa and fruit. Just what I had in mind. Thankyou !!
Salted peanuts. Part of my downfall
Paperwork. What a shame. I meant to ask, do you paint ?
How much longer do you think before your kitchen's all done and you can get back to some form of normality
Right, time's almost up, weeds acalling !
Good Morning
Shirps Posted Mar 12, 2005
Good evening!
Well, for me, a wasted day - the washing went well, hung it on the line, dried & did a second load - lovely weather. We had lunch & watched a little bit of last night's taped Red Nose thingy then ... my sugar level dropped! That was me gone for the rest of the afternoon - it's ages since that happened for apparently no reason. All I can think is that I am "better" & my levels decided to plunge - couldn't have picked a more annoying time. So work will HAVE to wait till tomorrow as I feel pretty tired - c'est la vie, again
Ah! Peanuts (actually, any nuts!)- salted or plain - SO moorish We've recently been buying tubes of Pringles - we don't usually eat & things, but they are nice to have with salads or cheese - if one of us brings in a tube during the evening they just kindof vanish
I used to paint: I took it up when I stopped work - the idea was to stop muscle wastage in my hands, but then they asked me to be secretary, very shortly afterwards I met my husband & then all time to paint seemed to disappear! I have all the brushes, paints, paper, etc., in the spare room upstairs, but for the past 12 years I haven't really had a go. so I wouldn't call myself an I guess I'll have to learn everything again when I do start. I have done some pictures that I was really pleased with, they are on my wall, but whenever I look at them I think "I'll never be able to do that again!"
The kitchen: hmm, I reckon, for everything to be finished including tiling, say 3 to 4 weeks, but hopefully we can use the cooker after around the 24th - it's being delivered on 20th/21st they we have to get the gas fitted. We'll have no surfaces yet though - so what's new
I hope tomorrow is as good as today - I'm going to eat a big breakfast & alternate between the garden & papers - keeps your fingers xed.
Here's a & for you to relax with after all your hard work today - fancy coming over & doing my garden?
How are the boys? Back to normal, ie: clothes, after yesterday? Some for them to guzzle down
ing
Good Morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 12, 2005
Please don't I could go myself
Gardened and generally faffed about in the garden, and cleaned and polished and faffed about in the house
Oh, and I baked a fruit . House smells lovely
I wonder why your sugar levels dropped ? Have you ever had a hypo
I would gladly come over and do your garden. You provide the and pretzels and I'll be there. I'll bring the boys
They're at a party at the rugby club tonight,an 18th, and I have to bring them home. Should be about midnight when I pick them up, so not too bad.
Means I'm on the all night. Or and
I really do hope that everything will go all right with your op. You seem very tatlented.
Good Morning
Shirps Posted Mar 12, 2005
you sound the perfick housewife What a worker!
It's great though when everything's done & smells nice - a real accomplishment.
Shame you can't indulge this evening - still, better to get them home safe
I've had slight hypos alot, but managed to catch them before going completely out.
I've had 2 total ones: one when I was at school, it was getting near lunch, I didn't want to make a fuss & just slumped over my desk! The chemistry teacher carried me out to my mother's car when she came to fetch me to take me to hospital (the school hadn't got a clue about diabetes & should have rung the ambulance!) - all the girls were really envious of me being dramatically carried out of the school by one of the very few male teachers
The other time I was in the back of my brother's car & just felt fainter & fainter, passing out in the back & coming round in hospital.
So all in all, a pretty good record after 38 years - I do test alot so have a fair idea of where I am, but today was just one of those inexplicable times. Sometimes things work in a delayed way - so maybe this came about because of yesterday - on the go nearly all day, but sugar level dropped today - probably be sky high tomorrow
Moi talented? Hmm, wish I was - a case of "know a little bit of lots of things, but master of none"
You're the talented one after all your study & exams ... and housewifery successes
Let's hope both of us have a good Sunday - d'you think the lads will bring you b'fast in bed as you've picked them up tonight? Or will it be more like them sleeping in till lunchtime
Good Morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 14, 2005
Morning !
and and paracetamol for me My throat is so sore. I have coughed all night Never mind.
What an experience from your school days. We didn't have any males teaching at senior school. A lot of very masculine women though - all Misses I can still picture them now.
As long as you test regularily you should be all right I guess, but there's always uncertainty with diabetes isn't there.....Hope your readings weren't high as kites yesterday
I woke up really early yesterday. 6.30 am ! God, it was awful. I read until I was tired and ready to drop off, but I *had* to get up.
Boys busy yesterday. They had a rugby match, so I was on teas
The whole day just seemed to whizz by, intermitted with a boring routine of cleaning and cooking.
Yes, I am a Stepford woman
Good Morning
Shirps Posted Mar 14, 2005
Afternoon!
Another for you? We've been out along the High Street & already had a Vinyl laying man coming tomorrow evening to measure up
You've been coughing? Oh No!!! Are you sure you're not going down with the dreaded lurgy that's going around (the one I'm just about recovered from)? Mine started with a really bad throat - nearly lost my voice - then proceeded to cough & nose ..... Bed early for you tonight methinks with a - helps more than any chemicals! I survived on blackcurrant Strepsils with a blackcurrent lemsip at night together with a Scotch
Oh yes! The masculine women We had two "couples" that we all knew about - murder for us if they'd had an upset at home though The deputy head was the worse - she took games & we avoided her like the plague when she came in the dressing rooms - never seen females get dressed SO fast
Nope, yesterday levels fairly normal for me as usual!!! Must have been the activities of the day before.
Ah! No b'fast in bed for you then - I'll have to have a word with those lads of yours
R got woken by the dog at 6am this morning, but I was dead to the world
My son-in-law went to the England Rugby match on Saturday - his firm had tickets for the VIP stand - R was, I think, quite full of So I spent an hour on-line talking to my daughter
Really hope you're not going to be - we've just got some multi-viatmins to try & give us a boost - not sure if they'll work, but worth a try?
Ah no, a Stepford woman would never have been chatting on a site like this, nor even use a 'puter
Going to update my journal shortly - have a now though, first - it's thirsty work all this talking
Good Morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 15, 2005
Afternoon,
and sympathy please.....
Not a Stepford woman Moi ? Don't tell me we're all tarred with the same brush I have delusions above me station obviously
Nothing worse than the gym mistress shouting 'Showers girs' and then she'd stand just watching us. So You weren't even allowed a towel until you'd walked 50 paces from the shower to the changing room.
Deodorant ! Deodorant ! No way Not allowed. Yuk
Yes, I'm on the paras, soothers and lemsip, with whiskey and honey chasers
Not surprised R was full of
Poor Johnny eh....Gawd help us all
Anyway, like me, he's just got to be
Speak soon, hopefully,
Have a good evening
Good Morning
Shirps Posted Mar 15, 2005
Pots of & pouring loads of sympathy ... I DO know how you feel ... poor, poor you Just keep going with those lovely little helpers.
You surely don't WANT to be a Stepford woman do you?
Where did you go to school?
I wonder if there was a special training school for teachers at girls schools
Not an expert or anything on sport, but do you reckon he came back too early after his 1st knee injury?
for you to help that throat, but no - it sticks & makes you cough more
Keep warm & don't get overtired on top of it
just a sympathy way - I am not a teacher at a girls school
Good Morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 15, 2005
Thanks for reply !!
Those Stepford women are soooo perfectly formed and beautiful.
Oh, what am I saying
No, I'm too ordinary to be a Stepford lady
Sorry, can't stay, I must go out tonight. School - here there and everywhere I'm afraid. Bit of a nomadic life......
for the No please
Good Morning
Shirps Posted Mar 17, 2005

sorry, wasn't thinking about their looks - yep that's something to be envied, but the automatic type brain - I'm pleased I'm me - who really wants to be perfectly formed, attired & look stunningly gorgeous ... ... well ... get a grip ... NO!
What are you going to do with yourself when the lads are off your hands?
They sure keep you going!
Save my fingers - read my latest journal entry - just to let you know what uneventful things are happening here
Hope you're feeling a bit better.
Good Morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 18, 2005
